Okay, full disclosure: I wasn't exactly thrilled about this reunion.

Hear me out! Hajime had just toughened up, found awesome companions like Yue and Shea. He was forging his own path.

Then BAM! Back to the whiny classmates.

Why the Reunion Feels...Off

Let’s be honest. Before the labyrinth, Hajime wasn't exactly a star student. He was just...there.

Now, he's practically a god. And they’re all like, "Oh, hey Hajime! Remember us?".

It feels a little forced, right?

Imagine going from zero to hero and all your old "friends" suddenly want to be your bestie. Suspect, much?

I couldn’t blame Hajime for having a "Seriously?" moment.

The Classmates: A Mixed Bag

Some classmates are genuinely happy to see him, of course. But others… well…

There's the classic damsel in distress, the overly enthusiastic one, and the secretly jealous guy.

Anime stereotypes abound!

And let's not forget those who still see him as the weakling he once was. Talk about missing the memo!

Monster Mash-Up and Misunderstandings

The reunion happens amidst a monster attack. Naturally.

Hajime, being the OP protagonist he is, swoops in to save the day. Cue confused classmates.

They're probably thinking, "Wait, is that really Hajime? Did he...level up?"

The episode is filled with misunderstandings and awkward silences. It's kind of hilarious, actually.

Hajime struggles to reconcile his past self with his present power. And the classmates struggle to understand either version of him.

The Verdict?

Episode eight is a turning point. It forces Hajime to confront his past and decide what (if anything) he owes his former classmates.

It sets the stage for future conflicts and alliances.

While I may not have loved the reunion, it's definitely a significant episode. It's Arifureta, after all. We expect things to be a little... chaotic.

Plus, it gives Hajime another opportunity to show off how awesome he's become. And who doesn't love that?
