Okay, dragon friends, let's talk Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S, episode 4. We all watched it. We all probably chuckled. But did anyone else feel…a little meh about it?

Don't get me wrong! I adore the show. The animation is gorgeous. The characters? Top-tier adorable. But this episode felt… a tad bit uneven.

The Good Stuff: Tohru's Enthusiasm is Contagious

Let's start with the highlights. Tohru being Tohru? Always a win. Her eagerness to please Kobayashi is endlessly charming.

And that dragon-shaped omelet? Chef's kiss! I almost wanted to try making it myself...almost.

The playful energy between the dragons is also fantastic. Seeing them goof off and learn about human customs never gets old.

The "Eh" Moments: A Tad Too Predictable?

Here's where I might ruffle some feathers. The episode's plot points felt a little…familiar. Didn't we see similar situations in season one?

The whole “dragons trying to understand human things” schtick, while cute, felt a bit recycled. I wanted something a little more spicy, you know?

Maybe I'm just being picky. But the episode lacked that certain oomph that made previous episodes so memorable.

Kanna's Cuteness: A Double-Edged Sword?

Okay, hear me out. Kanna is undeniably precious. Her little "oohs" and "aahs" could melt a glacier.

However, sometimes it feels like her cuteness is used as a crutch. Like, "Oh, the plot's getting stale? Let's throw in a Kanna scene!"

I love Kanna, I really do. But I want her to have more substantial moments. Show us her inner thoughts! Let her drive the plot a little!

Lucoa: The Underrated MVP?

Now, let's talk about Lucoa. She's often relegated to the "fan service" role, which is a shame.

This episode, though, gave us glimpses of her wisdom. She offered some surprisingly insightful advice, even if it was delivered in her usual…enthusiastic way.

I wish the show would explore her character more. She's got centuries of experience! Imagine the stories she could tell!

Overall: Still Enjoyable, But Could Be Better

Look, I'm not saying episode 4 was bad. It was still enjoyable. I laughed, I smiled, and I felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

But compared to other episodes, it felt a bit…safe. Like the show was playing it a little too close to the chest.

Maybe I'm just yearning for more character development. More plot twists. More dragon shenanigans that truly surprise me.

Here's my truly unpopular opinion. I want more chaos! Let the dragons wreak havoc! Let Kobayashi finally lose her cool!

The show is at its best when it's pushing boundaries. When it's being unpredictable and a little bit weird.

So, Dragon Maid, please, give us more of that! Let's see some truly epic dragon battles! Let's explore the darker sides of their pasts! Let's get weird!
