Law And Order Svu Season 10 Episode 12

Okay, let's talk SVU. Specifically, season 10, episode 12. Prepare yourselves for some hot takes!
"Anchor" and the Case of the (Slightly) Annoying Kid
This episode features a news anchor accused of... well, you know. It's SVU. Someone's always doing something terrible.
But honestly? The kid in this episode kind of got on my nerves. I know, I know, kids are traumatized and we should all be super sympathetic. But still...
Must Read
He was just a little too good at being manipulative. Maybe it's just me. Anyone else feel this way?
Benson and Stabler: Still Got It
One thing I will always love about this era of SVU is the Benson and Stabler dynamic. These two just get each other.
Even when they're arguing, you know they've got each other's backs. That's what made the show so good!

The way they played off each other in "Anchor" was classic. Did you notice how Stabler would sometimes get a little too rough, and Benson would reel him in? Perfection.
The Verdict? Mixed Feelings
So, about the episode itself? It’s… fine. Not the best. Not the worst. Definitely watchable.
The plot twists are okay. The performances are solid. But something about it just doesn’t quite click for me.
Maybe it's because the "who done it" is fairly obvious. Or maybe it's the aforementioned annoying kid. Who knows?

I feel like Christopher Meloni brought so much to every scene though.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Here's where I might lose some of you. Brace yourselves.
I think this episode highlights a problem SVU sometimes has: over-the-top villains. Sometimes they are too awful to be believable.
The news anchor in "Anchor" is… cartoonishly sleazy. He feels like a caricature, not a real person.

Don't get me wrong. I love a good villain. But I prefer my SVU villains with a little more nuance. A little more depth.
Final Thoughts
Overall, "Anchor" is a decent episode of SVU. It's got Benson and Stabler. It's got a crime. It's got some twists and turns.
However, it's not a standout. It's not an episode I'd rush to re-watch. It's perfectly serviceable background noise, though.
And let's be honest, even mediocre SVU is better than a lot of other shows out there. Who's with me?

Plus, the wardrobe on Mariska Hargitay was outstanding. Just saying.
What do you guys think? Am I being too harsh? Did you love "Anchor"? Let me know!
Would love to read your thoughts, perhaps I am completely wrong here!
Maybe I just need to re-watch to change my mind? Nah...
