The magic number? 23 episodes. Yep, that’s all we get (so far!). Seems like enough, but is it really?
My (Slightly Unpopular) Opinion
Okay, hear me out. 23 episodes felt… rushed. Like they were trying to cram a whole feast into a snack-sized bag. Anyone else agree?

Don't get me wrong, each episode was a gem. But some plot points needed more breathing room. More Bojji training montages, please!
I wanted more time spent on exploring the world. More side character development! Give me more of that juicy lore!
Especially the second cour. Things started moving at warp speed! Plot twists flying at you like dodgeballs.
Could We Have Used More?
Absolutely! Imagine 30 episodes. Or even (gasp!) 50? We could really sink our teeth into the story.
Imagine deeper dives into Kage's backstory. Imagine more episodes showing Bojji’s growth. Imagine more of Hiling's political schemes. Pure gold!
Of course, quality over quantity. But I think Ranking of Kings could have easily balanced both.
More time to truly connect with the characters. More opportunities to savor the emotional moments. Less feeling like we're skipping important steps.
The Animation, Though…
Let’s be real. The animation was stunning. Pure eye candy! Studio Wit absolutely nailed it.
Even if the story felt a bit rushed, the visuals were always top-notch. Those expressive character designs? Chef's kiss
Every single frame was filled with detail and love. So, maybe I can forgive the 23-episode constraint… almost.
What About a Season 2?
That's the million-dollar question! We're all waiting with bated breath. Please, anime gods, grant us a second season!
Imagine all the new adventures Bojji could have. All the new characters we could meet. All the tears we could shed! (Happy tears, hopefully.)
A second season could easily fix any pacing issues from the first. More episodes, more story, more everything!
And who knows, maybe this time, we'll get a nice, leisurely 30-episode run. One can dream, right?
Final Thoughts?
Ranking of Kings is a fantastic anime. 23 episodes or not, it's a masterpiece.
But, just maybe, it could have been even more fantastic with a few extra episodes. Just saying!
