A Discovery Of Witches Season 2 Episode 4

Okay, let's talk A Discovery of Witches Season 2, Episode 4. I know, I know, we’re all obsessed. But can we be honest for a sec?
This might be unpopular, but hear me out. Episode 4...was it really that good?
Diana's Power-Up: A Little Too Easy?
Diana is finally mastering her magic. She’s throwing fire and weaving spells like a pro. But did it feel a little…sudden?
Must Read
One minute she's struggling, the next she's practically Gandalf. Maybe I missed a training montage?
I'm all for strong female characters. But the quick leap felt less earned, more convenient for the plot.
Matthew's Moodiness: Still a Vibe
Let's face it, Matthew is always moody. It's kind of his thing, right?
But in this episode, his grumpiness felt dialed up to eleven. Someone get that man a cup of tea (or, you know, a pint of blood).

Maybe it's the 16th century weighing on him. Or maybe he just needs a vacation.
The Elizabethan Era: Still Gorgeous, Still Confusing
The costumes! The sets! A Discovery of Witches always nails the visuals.
But sometimes, keeping track of the characters and their motivations in the Elizabethan court feels like a historical pop quiz. Who's betraying who this week?
I spend half the episode pausing to Google historical figures. Anyone else?

Unpopular Opinion: The Globe Theatre Scene
Okay, brace yourselves. I wasn't completely blown away by the Globe Theatre scene.
Visually, it was stunning, of course! But the dialogue felt a little clunky. And was it just me, or did it feel a bit…staged?
I know, I know! Blasphemy! But I'm just being honest.
The Real MVP: Gallowglass
Let's be real. Gallowglass is the best thing about Season 2. Change my mind.

He's loyal, he's funny, and he's ridiculously handsome. Every scene with him is gold.
I'm starting a petition to make Gallowglass the main character. Who's with me?
So, Was It a Bad Episode?
Absolutely not! A Discovery of Witches is still addictive.
But maybe, just maybe, Episode 4 wasn't a perfect masterpiece. It had its moments, but some things felt a little off.

And hey, even the best shows have a few less-than-stellar episodes. Right?
Don't get me wrong, I'm still hooked. I’m eager to see what happens next with Diana and Matthew.
I'll be watching with bated breath (and maybe a history textbook nearby). But please, more Gallowglass!
