123movies What's Love Got To Do With It

Let's talk movies. Specifically, that 90s flick everyone seems to adore: "What's Love Got To Do With It." You know, the Tina Turner biopic. Yeah, that one.
Now, before you grab your pitchforks, hear me out. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying...is it really as amazing as everyone claims?
The Ike Factor
Alright, alright, I'll give it to them. Lawrence Fishburne as Ike Turner is terrifying. He nails the abusive, controlling artist thing. Makes you wanna hide your microphones and run.
Must Read
But sometimes, I feel like the movie leans too heavily on the abuse. Does it overshadow Tina's talent? Maybe a little.
The Music? Undeniable.
Okay, Angela Bassett brought the house down. Her energy? Incredible. Those legs? Legendary. The music? Absolutely banging.
Seriously, "Proud Mary" and "Nutbush City Limits" still slap. No arguments there. The performances are electric, I'll admit.

My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves)
Here it comes. Deep breaths. I think the movie is...overrated. There, I said it! Don't hate me!
I know, I know. It's a powerful story of survival. And Angela Bassett deserved every award. But something just doesn't quite click for me.
Maybe it's the pacing? It feels rushed sometimes. Or maybe it's because I've seen too many biopics follow the same formula. Rise, fall, redemption. Rinse and repeat.

Predictable Plotlines, Anyone?
I mean, we all know the story. Abusive relationship, escape, solo success. The movie follows the script pretty closely. No real surprises there.
Don't get me wrong, Tina Turner's story is inspiring. But did the movie do it justice? I'm not entirely convinced.
The 123movies Connection (Hear Me Out)
Okay, this is a tangent, I know. But has anyone else ever ended up watching this movie on 123movies at 2 AM? No judgement. We've all been there.

Maybe that's why I'm so lukewarm on it. Late-night, dodgy streaming quality doesn't exactly enhance the cinematic experience. Just a thought.
And let's be honest, 123movies is a treasure trove of questionable decisions. You start out wanting to watch a classic and end up watching a CGI shark fight a robot. True story.
Worth Watching? (Maybe)
Look, "What's Love Got To Do With It" is a decent movie. It's got great performances and an important message. It is the Tina Turner story, after all!

But is it the masterpiece everyone makes it out to be? In my humble opinion, not really. I guess its depends on how the story makes you feel.
But hey, that's just my two cents. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go re-watch "Mad Max: Fury Road." Now that's a movie that lives up to the hype!
What do you think? Am I totally wrong? Or are you secretly on team "overrated" too? Let me know!
