1 350 Plamax Jg 02 Gipsy Danger Model Kit

Okay, hear me out. I'm about to say something potentially controversial. Something that might make some model-building purists clutch their pearls.
Gipsy Danger: Is It Really All That?
We're talking about the 1/350 Plamax JG-02 Gipsy Danger Model Kit, specifically. Yes, that Gipsy Danger. The hero of many Kaiju-fighting dreams.
Don't get me wrong, it looks impressive. All that detailed plastic screaming, "I fought monsters and I won!"
Must Read
The Hype Machine
But is it...overhyped? I think, maybe, just a little bit.
It's Gipsy Danger! Everyone loves Gipsy Danger. But I'm not sure I love building Gipsy Danger.
Building can be tedious. So. Many. Little. Parts.

The Reality of the Build
The instructions? Let's just say they assume you have a PhD in model kit interpretation.
I'm pretty sure I lost at least three vital pieces to the carpet monster. They are probably living happily with all the missing socks.
And the decals! Oh, the decals! Prepare for tiny, fiddly frustration.
The "Sense of Accomplishment"...Maybe?
They say you get a "sense of accomplishment" after completing a challenging model. I mostly felt a "sense of relief" that I hadn't thrown it all out the window.

I will admit, though, looking at the finished product is pretty cool. I mean, Gipsy Danger does look good. Even if it did require a minor blood sacrifice (mostly from accidental hobby knife incidents).
But was it fun? Debatable.
Other Jaegers Deserve Love Too!
Maybe my unpopular opinion is less about Gipsy Danger itself, and more about the sheer volume of Gipsy Danger merch. There are other Jaegers!

Where's the love for Cherno Alpha? Coyote Tango needs some appreciation. Even Striker Eureka, the overly-perfect Jaeger, deserves a little kit love.
I am so tired of seeing Gipsy Danger.
A Modest Proposal (For Model Kit Manufacturers)
So, to the model kit companies out there, I implore you: Branch out! Give us more variety! Let the underdogs have their moment.
More Jaegers, less Gipsy Danger! Let's give the fans of Crimson Typhoon, the glorious three-armed wonder, something to build!

Give us something more unique. Something with character.
Final Thoughts (Before the Hate Mail Arrives)
Look, I'm not saying the Plamax Gipsy Danger is a bad kit. It's just... a lot.
And maybe, just maybe, I'm a little bit jealous of everyone who managed to build it perfectly. I'm convinced some people are actually robots sent from the future to assemble tiny plastic robots.
So, there you have it. My controversial take. Feel free to disagree. Just don't throw any Kaiju at me.
