Yashahime Princess Half-demon Season 2 Episode 1 Crunchyroll

Okay, let's talk about Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon Season 2, Episode 1 on Crunchyroll. Did it deliver? Did it make us scream with joy (or frustration)? Well, here's my take. Prepare for some potentially unpopular opinions!
First off, the animation looked pretty good! The fight scenes were snappy. I appreciate the effort. But did anyone else feel like the story was… trying a little too hard?
The Return of the Gang (Sort Of)
We see Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha doing their thing. Hunting demons, collecting bounties. You know, the usual half-demon teenage life. But did they really need to stumble upon that plot device so early?
Must Read
The Plot Thickens (Too Quickly?)
Seriously, the pacing felt a little rushed. It felt like they needed to stuff all the plot elements in one episode. I needed a bit more breathing room. I needed a little more demon-slaying hijinks and less exposition!
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good mystery. But dumping so much information in episode one? It felt a little overwhelming. Did anyone else feel that way?

And what about the villains? They're menacing, sure. But do we really care about them yet? We need more reason to fear and loathe them. Just saying!
The Feels (Or Lack Thereof?)
Yashahime is supposed to be about family, right? The connections, the loss, the bonds that tie us together. But that emotional core felt a bit muted in this episode.
Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm expecting too much too soon. But I was hoping for a stronger emotional hook. A moment that would make me grab the tissues.

Missing that Inuyasha Magic?
Let's be honest, we're all comparing it to Inuyasha. That's unavoidable. And maybe that's part of the problem. Inuyasha had so much time to build its characters and world.
Yashahime is trying to catch up quickly. It needs to find its own rhythm. But does it have the time to do so?
Speaking of the original cast… Where are they exactly? Besides brief flashbacks. We need to see them interact with the new generation more. More Inuyasha! More Kagome! Please?

I’m not saying this episode was bad. It had its moments. Some exciting action sequences. A few intriguing hints about what's to come. But it didn’t blow me away.
It needed that extra spark. That special something. Something to really grab my attention and make me desperate for the next episode.
Unpopular Opinion Time
Okay, here’s the really unpopular part. Maybe, just maybe, Yashahime should have been a bit longer. Perhaps more episodes to flesh out the story. Is it just me, or did anyone else think it could have benefitted from that?

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to watch. I'm invested in these characters. I want to see where their journey takes them. I still have hope for Yashahime.
But episode one? It felt like a bumpy start. A start that needs a little more… Inuyasha-ness. Let's hope the rest of the season finds its footing. And let's hope they bring back more of the original crew!
What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Let me know in the comments!
