Wonder Woman The Man Who Could Not Die

Okay, let's talk about something a little... weird. Something that's been bugging me about Wonder Woman for ages. And honestly? Maybe you’ve thought about it too.
It’s about a certain World War I pilot. You know, the one and only Steve Trevor.
Steve Trevor: The Lucky Charm (Or Something Else?)
I'm not saying I dislike Steve Trevor. He was brave, charming. He was a good foil for Diana. But did anyone else notice how suspiciously... resilient he was?
Must Read
He crash-lands on Themyscira. Then he survives countless battles in the trenches. And then he ultimately, seemingly sacrifices himself in a plane explosion.
Seems like a pretty final ending, right? Nope!
A History of Dodging Death
Think about it. Dude's flying around in ancient planes. He's fighting against Germans with advanced weaponry. He's involved in all sorts of mayhem. And each time, he just keeps bouncing back!

He's basically a cat with nine lives, except his lives are conveniently spaced out for dramatic effect. Is it just me, or is that a little... convenient?
I get it. He's a hero. He's important to Diana's journey. But come on! Some of those scrapes felt like they should have been instantly fatal.
Maybe he had some secret Amazonian healing powers we weren't told about? Maybe he was secretly part T-Rex? Okay, I'm kidding. (Mostly.)
The "Sacrifice" That Wasn't (Really?)
Then there's the big one. The ultimate sacrifice. He flies the plane into the atmosphere to detonate Ares's deadly gas.

A noble act? Absolutely. Believable? Ehhhhh...
And then BOOM! It explodes. He’s gone, right? Except he wasn’t really gone, was he?
He came back. In a different body, sure. But it was him. Somehow. This is where I start getting suspicious.

Was Ares protecting him? Did Diana secretly use her powers to keep him alive just enough? Or is he really just that darn lucky?
An Unpopular Opinion, Perhaps?
Look, I know this might be an unpopular opinion. People love Steve Trevor. He's a romantic lead, a charming sidekick. I get it.
But I can't help but feel like his constant brushes with death cheapen the stakes a bit. If Steve can survive anything, where's the tension?
Perhaps Wonder Woman's writing is a bit too generous with the plot armor. Or perhaps, he just secretly really, really good at dodging bullets.

Maybe the real answer is, we just want to believe in a happy ending. And who am I to argue with that? I'm just saying... maybe he's more than just a lucky pilot.
So, next time you watch Wonder Woman, keep an eye on Steve Trevor. Is he just a regular guy in extraordinary circumstances? Or is there something more going on beneath the surface?
Maybe he's not the man who couldn't die. Maybe he's just the man who wouldn't. Food for thought!
