Will There Be A New Season Of Dexter New Blood

Okay, let's talk Dexter. Specifically, Dexter: New Blood. Did you watch it? Most importantly, did you like it?

The big question on everyone's mind, I guess, is: will we get another season? I have some thoughts. Some might even call them controversial.

The Case for More Blood...Or Maybe Not

Look, Dexter, even at its worst, is kind of addictive, right? We're drawn to that dark passenger. We love seeing him (or anyone else) trying to hide something.

New Blood gave us a fresh start (sort of). A snowy landscape. A new identity. A whole new set of potential victims...err...bad guys.

And Harrison. Let's not forget Harrison. He's got daddy issues and the dark urges. Talk about a recipe for drama!

But Here's the Thing...

The ending. I'm just gonna say it. The ending of New Blood. It was… a choice. A very divisive choice, I think.

Did it really need to happen that way? Couldn’t they have found another way to wrap things up? This is when the fun ends.

Some fans are screaming for more. They want Harrison’s story. They want to see if he follows in his father's… footsteps. Or if he tries to break the cycle.

My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)

I think… maybe… we should leave it alone. Okay, hear me out!

I get the desire for more. I really do. But sometimes, less is more. You want to quit while you're ahead, don't you?

Think of it like your favorite dessert. One slice is perfect. Two might be okay. But after the third, you’re just feeling sick. That's how seasons are, they should have ended when they needed to, not when they wanted to.

Dexter already had a famously… controversial… ending the first time around. Do we really need another one?

"Sometimes, the mystery is better than the answer."

I'm not saying New Blood was perfect. Far from it! But it gave us a bit of closure (sort of). It showed us Dexter grappling with his past. Confronting his legacy.

And honestly, Harrison is kind of annoying. Am I the only one who thinks that? He's got that perpetually angsty teen thing going on.

The Risk vs. Reward

Another season of New Blood runs the risk of ruining what little goodwill it salvaged. It could just become another tired retread.

Think about all the shows that came back years later and failed to live up to the hype. It's a long list! We all know at least one.

I would rather the story stay in our minds. Let the story stay in our dreams. Let us imagine what Harrison does. Or if the show writers have something new up their sleeves.

So, What's the Verdict?

Will there be another season of Dexter: New Blood? I have no clue. Probably. Money talks, right?

But should there be another season? In my humble (and possibly wrong) opinion… probably not.

Let Dexter rest. Let Harrison go find himself. Let us all move on. Or rewatch the first four seasons. Those were great!
