Will The Keeper Of The Lost Cities Movie Be Animated

Okay, let's talk about the Keeper of the Lost Cities movie. We all know it's coming. Someday. Maybe.
Live-Action? I'm Not So Sure...
Everyone seems to assume it'll be live-action. All those gorgeous actors playing Sophie Foster and Fitz Vacker. Sounds great, right?
But here's my possibly unpopular opinion: I think it should be animated. Yeah, I said it!
Must Read
Why Animation Rocks (For KotLC, Anyway)
Think about it. Keeper of the Lost Cities is full of magic. Like, serious, unbelievable, requires-a-whole-lot-of-CGI magic.
Live-action CGI can be...iffy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it looks like a rejected video game cutscene. Nobody wants that for Keefe Sencen's hair.
Animation, on the other hand, gives you total freedom. Imagine the possibilities! Teleportation that actually looks cool.
And let's not forget the creatures. Gnomes, Imps, intelligent horses that can talk. All easier and probably cheaper to animate well.

Trying to make Silveny look majestic and real in live-action? Good luck! Animated? Boom. Instant unicorn perfection.
The World Comes Alive
The Lost Cities themselves are a visual feast. Elegant buildings, shimmering landscapes. They're described with such detail.
Animation can capture that sense of wonder perfectly. We can see Everglen in all its shimmering glory. No budget constraints holding us back!
Think about the animators going wild with the elven architecture. Live action would try but fall short because it is limited.

Casting? Less Problematic!
Casting a live-action version is a nightmare waiting to happen. Everyone has their own image of the characters.
And let's be honest, someone will be unhappy with whoever they pick. It's inevitable.
But with animation? You can create the perfect Sophie. The animators aren't limited by someone's actual face.
Plus, voice acting is its own art form! You could get some amazing actors to bring these characters to life with just their voices.

Animation Has Come So Far
Let's not think of cartoons as just for kids anymore. Animated movies are sophisticated. They are emotional. They are visually stunning.
Look at the recent success of animated films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The animation style can be groundbreaking.
Keeper of the Lost Cities could benefit from this creativity. It could become a visually unique and unforgettable experience.
So, maybe I'm crazy. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this. But wouldn't an animated KotLC movie be amazing?

But what about...?
Yes, I know many of you want a live-action movie. You want to see these character humanized.
I can understand this view. You want to see these characters played out in reality.
Ultimately, it's up to the filmmakers. But I'm putting it out there: Team Animation, rise up!
Let's make it happen!
