Will And Just Like That Have A Second Season

More And Just Like That...? Really?
So, And Just Like That… might be coming back. Season Two is possibly looming. Are we all screaming internally (or externally)?
Don't get me wrong, I love a good comeback. But some things are best left in the stylish, meticulously curated past. Like, remember scrunchies? Exactly.
The Case for "No More, Please!"
Okay, I’m going to say it. Maybe And Just Like That... Season One was… a bit of a mess. I said what I said! It felt like a desperate grab at relevance.
Must Read
The storylines felt forced. The new characters? Underdeveloped. It was like they threw everything at the wall to see what stuck.
And don’t even get me started on Che Diaz! I still have nightmares. Okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but you get the picture.
"Sometimes, less is more. Sex and the City had a good run. Let's remember it fondly."
Carrie Bradshaw deserves better. We all deserve better! Must we tarnish a perfectly good memory?

The Case for "Okay, Maybe, If…"
But… hear me out. Maybe, just maybe, Season Two could redeem itself. It could learn from its mistakes.
Perhaps the writers will listen to the (mostly negative) feedback. They could dial down the cringe and dial up the charm.
Maybe, just maybe, Miranda could get a storyline that doesn’t involve quitting her job and chasing after Che. I'm begging you, writers!

I am still not over the Steve storyline! He was done so dirty! I really hope they will treat him well in the new episodes!
And perhaps, Charlotte can finally loosen up a little. Let her kids be themselves! The pressure cooker is not cute anymore.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Here's my unpopular opinion: Maybe And Just Like That… is trying too hard to be woke. Trying so hard that it misses the mark completely.

I mean, diversity and inclusion are important. But shoehorning it in feels forced and inauthentic. Let the characters be real people, not caricatures of representation.
Also, what happened to the fashion? I miss the iconic looks. Where's the daring? The fabulousness? Give us the clothes, please!
The Verdict?
So, will I watch Season Two? Probably. I'm only human. And I am a sucker for nostalgia (and potential train wrecks).

But I'm going in with low expectations. Very, very low. I'm preparing myself for more awkward moments and questionable plot choices.
Ultimately, I hope And Just Like That... surprises me. I hope it rediscovers its spark. I hope it remembers what made Sex and the City so special.
But if it doesn’t? Well, there's always reruns. I can always return to my favorite episodes of the original series!
Just please, no more Che Diaz serenades. The world has suffered enough.
