Why Isn't There An Amazing Spider Man 3

Remember swinging through the city with Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man? We got two movies of his take on the web-slinger, and many fans were really hoping for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
So, where'd it go? Why did we get cut off mid-story, leaving us hanging higher than Spidey on a skyscraper?
The Villain Problem (And Other Stuff)
Okay, let's be honest, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was... a bit much. We had Electro crackling with electricity, a glimpse of the Rhino stomping around, and the ever-looming threat of the Green Goblin.
Must Read
It was like a supervillain convention exploded on screen! Some people felt it was just too crowded, and the story suffered as a result.
And then there's the "S" word: Sony. Sony Pictures owns the movie rights to Spider-Man, not Marvel Studios. That makes things... complicated.
The Spider-Verse Shift
After the second movie, rumblings started. Rumblings about a deal. A deal between Sony and Marvel. A deal that involved letting Spider-Man play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sandbox!

Imagine a group of kids sharing toys after years of holding them solo.
This meant saying goodbye to Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man... for a little while, at least.
Enter Tom Holland (and a Whole New World)
Suddenly, a new kid arrived on the scene: Tom Holland. He brought a fresh, younger Spider-Man into the MCU, making his debut in Captain America: Civil War.

The response was overwhelmingly positive. Everyone loved seeing Spider-Man interact with Iron Man, Captain America, and the rest of the Avengers. It was a dream come true for many fans!
So, Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man series was, effectively, shelved to make way for this exciting new direction.
But Wait! There's Hope (Maybe?)
Here's where things get interesting. Remember that little film called Spider-Man: No Way Home? Yeah, the one that broke the internet?

It brought back both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to help Tom Holland's Spider-Man fight some familiar foes. It was pure fan service, a love letter to the entire history of Spider-Man movies!
And guess what? Andrew Garfield absolutely crushed it. He showed a more mature, heartfelt version of Spider-Man, someone who had learned from his past mistakes.
A Second Chance?
The response to Garfield's return was so strong, it sparked a whole new wave of demand for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Could it happen? Maybe. Sony and Marvel are always looking for ways to keep the Spider-Man franchise fresh and exciting.
While nothing is confirmed, the immense popularity of Garfield's cameo proves there is a huge audience ready and willing to see him swing into action again. Perhaps, one day, we'll finally get the closure Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man deserves.
Until then, we can keep dreaming of what could be and rewatching those amazing (pun intended!) moments from No Way Home. Never say never, right?
