Why Is The Mentalist No Longer Free On Amazon Prime

Okay, let's talk about something that’s been bugging me. Where did The Mentalist go on Amazon Prime?! I swear, one day Patrick Jane was charming criminals, and the next...poof! Vanished.

The Great Disappearing Act

Seriously, it felt like a magic trick. One minute I'm enjoying Jane's smug grin. The next, I'm staring at a blank screen. Where's my favorite crime-solving charmer gone?

Maybe it's just me. Perhaps I'm the only one who binge-watched it every few months. But I doubt it. Surely I'm not the only one suffering.

Possible Culprits (or, My Wild Guesses)

So, what happened? Did Red John finally win? Or did some streaming service conspiracy occur?

Maybe some other service paid a fortune for it. Maybe the algorithm decided I wasn't really watching it enough. I reject both of those suggestions.

Maybe the rights expired, boring! Or maybe... just maybe... they realized Patrick Jane's genius was too much for us mere mortals to handle.

Okay, that last one's a bit far-fetched. But a girl can dream, right? I miss Lisbon's eye-rolls!

The Unpopular Opinion Zone

Here's where I get controversial. I actually liked the later seasons! Shocker, I know.

Everyone always complains that it wasn’t as good after you-know-what happened. But I thought it was still fun. Jane's antics never got old!

He went from hunting a serial killer to solving other cases. The world kept turning! And I kept watching.

Sue me. I enjoyed watching him gallivant across the globe. He was conning people and charming people with his little tea cup! It was all in good fun.

The Search Continues

So, what's a Mentalist-deprived fan to do? Scour the internet for clues? Threaten Amazon with a strongly worded letter?

I've tried searching other streaming services. It's like the show is playing hide-and-seek. And it's winning.

Maybe I'll just buy the DVDs. Remember those archaic things? At least then, I'd have Jane whenever I wanted.

Or perhaps, I’ll learn some mentalist tricks myself! Then, I can deduce exactly where the show is hiding. And maybe, just maybe, predict when it will return to its rightful place on Prime.

A Plea to the Streaming Gods

To the powers that be at Amazon, or whoever is holding The Mentalist hostage: Please, bring it back! We need Patrick Jane's wit and charm.

We need Lisbon's exasperated sighs. We need Cho's deadpan delivery. It's a matter of national... okay, maybe just personal... importance!

Consider this my official petition. Bring back The Mentalist! Make Prime great again! (Okay, I went too far.)
