Why Is Spider Man Homecoming Rated Pg 13

Okay, let's talk about something that's been bugging me (pun intended!). Why is Spider-Man: Homecoming rated PG-13? Seriously, I need answers.

It's All About That Teenage Angst (and Maybe Some Explosions)

I get it. There's action. There are explosions. Peter Parker is dealing with high school and superpowers. That's a lot for one kid.

But is it really PG-13 material? Compared to other superhero movies, Homecoming feels almost...wholesome. Hear me out!

The "Bad" Language

Sure, there might be a "darn" or a "heck" thrown in. Maybe even a "frick." I'm being dramatic. But come on, my grandma says those words!

Where are the F-bombs? Where's the truly offensive stuff? Homecoming feels more like a Disney Channel movie with extra webs.

Violence... Kind Of?

Yes, people get punched. Yes, buildings collapse. But it's all so...cartoony. It's not like we're seeing gruesome injuries or anything.

Even Vulture'svillainous deeds are fairly tame. He's stealing tech, not, you know, ruling the world with an iron fist (yet).

The Teenage Romances

Peter has a crush! He awkwardly tries to talk to Liz! It's adorable! And extremely PG.

Where's the steamy make-out scenes? Where's the forbidden love affair? This is wholesome teen romance at its finest.

My Unpopular Opinion: It Should Be PG

Here's where I might lose some of you. I think Homecoming could have easily been rated PG. There, I said it! Don't @ me.

It's a movie about a kid trying to balance school and being a hero. It's funny, it's heartwarming, and it's relatively tame. A little too tame for PG-13?

I'm not saying it's a bad movie because of the rating. I loved it! But I just don't see what pushes it into PG-13 territory.

Maybe It's Just Me?

Perhaps I'm desensitized. After years of watching superhero movies with increasingly intense violence, maybe my PG-13 radar is broken.

Or maybe I just have a soft spot for Spider-Man. He's the friendly neighborhood hero, not the brooding, morally ambiguous one.

Whatever the reason, I stand by my unpopular opinion: Spider-Man: Homecoming should have been rated PG. Fight me! (Just kidding...mostly.)
