Why Is In The Heights Not On Hbo Max

Okay, let's talk about something that's been bugging me. Where in the world is In The Heights on HBO Max? Seriously, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
Missing the Musical Magic
Remember when In The Heights was supposed to be the summer blockbuster? It was going to be HUGE. Singing, dancing, Lin-Manuel Miranda...what's not to love?
Well, turns out a lot of people saw it in theaters (or maybe they didn't?). Then it briefly popped up on HBO Max. But then...poof! Gone.
Must Read
Now, I'm not saying I'm a huge fan. But I did enjoy it! And I thought, maybe, just maybe, I'd catch it again on streaming. Nope.
My (Slightly Unpopular) Theory
Here's where my inner conspiracy theorist comes out. I think In The Heights is secretly hiding. It's playing hide-and-seek but forgot to tell anyone.
Maybe HBO Max realized everyone was too busy re-watching Friends reruns. Or maybe the music was just TOO catchy. I mean, try getting "In The Heights" out of your head after hearing it once. Impossible!

Or, here's a thought. Maybe Lin-Manuel Miranda decided he wanted to keep it all to himself. He's just sitting at home, watching it on repeat, laughing maniacally. Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic.
Is it the Length?
Let's be real, In The Heights is...long. Like, take-a-nap-in-the-middle-long. Maybe people couldn't commit to the runtime.
My attention span is about the length of a TikTok video these days. So maybe a three hour musical isn't quite what I need. But still! It should be accessible.

Could it be that it's just not quite as good as Hamilton? Don't @ me! I said it. Maybe expectations were just too high after the Hamilton craze.
Where Did It Go?
Seriously though, where is it? I've checked all the usual suspects. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime... nada.
Did it get beamed into space by aliens who wanted to study our musical culture? Is it locked away in a vault with the Ark of the Covenant? I need answers!

Perhaps it's a licensing issue? Maybe the rights are tangled up in a legal battle involving a rogue empanada vendor? I'm just spitballing here.
The Search Continues
So, to HBO Max (or whatever you're called now!), bring back In The Heights! I'm not saying I'll watch it every day. But I want the option.
Let the people sing! Let the people dance! Just let the people stream In The Heights without having to resort to, you know, other methods. We don't speak of those.

Until then, I'll just be here, humming the soundtrack and wondering if I should just buy the DVD. (Do they even make those anymore?). The mystery remains.
So, is anyone else feeling my pain? Let me know if you've spotted In The Heights lurking somewhere! My sanity depends on it!
And if you work for HBO Max... well, you know what to do. Hint: It involves bringing back a certain vibrant, musical film.
