Why Can't I Get On Demand On Spectrum

Okay, let's be real. Spectrum On Demand can be... temperamental. I'm not saying it's always bad. But sometimes, it feels like it's deliberately mocking me.
I just want to watch that one episode of Chopped. Is that too much to ask? Apparently, yes.
The Quest for Content
First, there's the search function. Oh, the search function! You type in the show title. It suggests everything except what you want.
Must Read
It offers obscure cooking shows from 1982. It suggests home improvement shows in Latvian. Seriously, Latvian?
Then, you finally find it. Chopped. Victory is mine! Or so I thought.
The Buffering Blues
Next up: the buffering. It starts, it stops. It teases me with a few seconds of delicious culinary competition. Then, BAM! Black screen. Spinning wheel of doom.

My internet is fine. I swear! I'm streaming cat videos in 4K. But Chopped? Apparently, that's too demanding for the network.
Maybe Spectrum thinks I don't deserve to witness culinary genius.
The "Error" Enigma
Oh, the error messages. They are cryptic. They are vague. They are utterly unhelpful.
"Error 2047." What does that even mean? Is my TV spontaneously combusting? Is the universe telling me to just go outside?

Spectrum could at least make them funny. "Error: You clearly need a snack. Go get one." Now that's an error message I can appreciate.
Unpopular Opinion Time
Here's my controversial take: Sometimes I think the on-demand selection is... lacking. Where are all the good movies?
It's like they're deliberately hiding the good stuff. They want me to rent it. I get it. Business is business. But still, rude.

And don't even get me started on the movies that cost more than a cinema ticket. I'm paying for cable already!
The Remote Control's Revenge
The remote. A weapon of mass frustration. I press the "On Demand" button. Nothing happens.
I press it again. And again. Now I'm mashing the button like a chimpanzee trying to unlock a banana. Finally, it works! But only after I've aged five years from the stress.
The remote must be powered by spite. That's the only logical explanation.

Is There a Solution?
I've tried everything. Resetting the box. Unplugging the router. Yelling at the TV (don't judge). Nothing seems to work consistently.
Maybe I should just give up. Embrace the old ways. Dust off my DVD player. (Does anyone even have DVDs anymore?).
Or maybe, just maybe, Spectrum On Demand will work flawlessly. Someday. I won't hold my breath. But a guy can dream.
In the meantime, I guess I'll just watch more cat videos. At least they stream without a hitch. The irony is not lost on me.
