So, who was the very first demon in Demon Slayer? It's a question that haunts me. I bet it keeps you up at night too, right?

The Obvious (But Is It?) Answer: Muzan Kibutsuji

Everyone screams Muzan, the big bad himself. He's the OG demon, the one who started it all. He even looks the part.

But hold on a second, let's think outside the box. Is he really the first?

My Wild Theory: The Real First Demon Was...Someone Else!

Okay, hear me out, this might be controversial. What if Muzan wasn't born a demon? What if he was made one?

My theory is that some poor, ancient doctor accidentally created the demon formula. This doctor, unknowingly cursed the world.

Maybe they were trying to cure an illness. Think super soldier serum gone horribly wrong!

The Accidental Alchemist: Patient Zero

So, who did this doctor experiment on? My bet is some unfortunate soul in need of saving. They probably had a terrible disease.

This poor guy, Patient Zero, got the experimental treatment. Boom! Instant demon. This is getting interesting, right?

Muzan then comes along and, using his own will and intelligence, steals the serum. He just perfected the formula for himself.

Evidence? Okay, Maybe Not Much...

Admittedly, I don't have rock-solid evidence for this. But consider this: We know so little about the very beginning. There are clues.

We are introduced to medicine throughout the series. It gives us an idea that things are evolving from simple to complex.

It makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Why This Matters (Kind Of)

Why am I so fixated on this? Because it adds a layer of tragedy to the whole story. If someone created the first demon, that person carries a huge weight. It also brings questions.

What does it mean to be a demon? How is it different from being human? It adds more nuance to a series already full of it.

Besides, doesn't it make Muzan a little less scary? He’s just a really ambitious copycat!

So, Who Do You Think Was First?

This is my slightly unhinged theory, what about yours? Was it Muzan? Some other poor soul?

Let's be real, it's probably Muzan. But where's the fun in that? The whole show is about demons and their history.
