Who Was At The Met Philly Last Night

Who Was At The Met Philly Last Night

So, The Met Philly Was... Something Last Night, Right?

Okay, spill. Were you at The Met Philly last night? Let's be real, concert crowds are always a mixed bag.

Trying to figure out who exactly comprised that bag is a fun (and sometimes frightening) exercise.

The Die-Hard Fan (Obviously)

First, there were the Die-Hard Fans. You know the ones. They've seen insert band name here at least five times.

They know all the deep cuts and are passionately singing along, maybe a little too passionately. Don't get me wrong, their energy is infectious, but sometimes I just want to hear the actual band.

They're easy to spot: vintage tour t-shirts, maybe some homemade merch, and definitely a pre-show social media post screaming about their excitement.

The "I'm Just Here for the Instagram" Crew

Then there's the "Instagram Crew." More interested in capturing the perfect story than actually experiencing the show.

Constant phone-wielding, filters galore, and a distinct lack of actual singing. They're usually blocking your view, too. Unpopular opinion: Put the phone down!

Guilty? Maybe. Am I judging? A little. We all are.

The Corporate Outing Crew

Ah, the Corporate Outing Crew. Bless their hearts. You can tell them by their slightly-too-formal attire and their air of polite confusion.

They're probably trying to bond with their boss over the music, even though they clearly only know one song (the radio hit, of course). Someone tell Steve from accounting to loosen his tie!

They are the best dressed for sure.

The "I Haven't Been to a Concert in Years" Individual

And of course, you have the "Haven't Been to a Concert in Years" person. They're probably someone dragged along by a friend, or maybe they're just trying to relive their youth.

They're slightly bewildered by the volume, the crowd surfing (if any), and the overall chaos. They're rocking that "I can't believe I'm still alive" look.

They're silently wondering if earplugs are socially acceptable.

The Secretly Famous (Maybe?)

Then there's always that one person who looks like they should be famous. Are they? Probably not. But you can't help but wonder.

Maybe they're a local musician trying to scope out the competition? Or a very dedicated fan who just happens to have amazing style? The mystery is half the fun.

I'm pretty sure I saw insert name of D-list celebrity.

And Me, Obviously

And finally, there was me. Probably judging everyone a little too much (sorry!). Enjoying the music, though. Trying not to spill my overpriced beer. You might have even seen me.

Maybe I was even the "Instagram Crew" for a fleeting moment. We all have our sins.

Regardless, The Met Philly was filled with a vibrant, slightly awkward, and ultimately entertaining mix of people. That's what makes live music so great.
