Who Is The Villain In Attack On Titan

Okay, let's talk Attack on Titan. We all love it. But who's really the bad guy?
Is it the Titans? Giant, naked people-eaters? Seems obvious, right?
The Titans: A Red Herring?
But hold on. Were they really acting out of malice? Or just... hungry? Think about it.
Must Read
They don't exactly have complex motivations. Maybe they're just misunderstood, perpetually hangry giants.
The Obvious Answer: Marley
Then there's Marley. A nation fueled by hatred and war. They literally turn people into Titans to attack their enemies.
Pretty villainous behavior if you ask me. Especially to poor Eldians.
But are they truly evil, or victims of their own history and propaganda?

The Eldian Restorationists: Complicated Much?
What about the Eldian Restorationists? Planning a revolution, wanting to reclaim their "rightful" place.
Their methods are... questionable. Committing crimes, even against their own people.
Are they freedom fighters or just power-hungry rebels? Hmmm...
The Real Villain: Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here's where things get spicy. Prepare yourselves for my slightly controversial take.
I think the real villain of Attack on Titan... is everyone! Hear me out!

Okay, maybe "everyone" is a bit broad. But the system itself is the problem.
Humanity's Self-Destructive Tendencies
The constant cycle of hatred, revenge, and prejudice. It's like a never-ending game of hot potato, except the potato is a bomb.
Marley hates Eldia, Eldia hates Marley, and nobody stops to think "Hey, maybe we can all just chill for a sec?"
Everyone is so focused on their own suffering and perceived injustices. They forget about the suffering they inflict on others.
The System is Rigged
The world in Attack on Titan is built on a foundation of fear and oppression. It's designed to create conflict.

No one seems able to escape the endless cycle of violence. It makes you really think about real life.
It's hard to blame individuals when they're trapped in a system that actively encourages them to be awful.
Eren: A Victim or a Villain?
And what about Eren Yeager? He starts as our hero, fighting for freedom. Then... he becomes something else entirely.
Some say he's a villain, committing genocide. Others argue he's a victim of circumstance, forced to make impossible choices.
I'd say he's both. He's a tragic figure, a product of the messed-up world he inherited.

So, Who's REALLY To Blame?
Ultimately, the true villain in Attack on Titan isn't a single person or group.
It's the system, the cycle of hatred, and the inability of people to break free from it.
It's a depressing thought, I know. But maybe that's the point. The show is asking us to look at the bigger picture.
Maybe if we can understand the root of the problem, we can actually start creating solutions.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch some cat videos to cheer myself up. This got a little too real.
