Who Dies In Season 2 Of The Originals

Season 2 of The Originals: A Bloodbath (But Who Actually Matters?)
Okay, let's talk about death. The Originals? Basically a revolving door of characters checking out. Season 2 was no exception.
So, who bit the dust? More importantly, who did we actually care about?
The Usual Suspects: Minor Characters Galore
We had random witches, werewolves, and vampires meeting their maker. Honestly, they were mostly just background noise.
Must Read
Remember that super evil witch, Genevieve? Yeah, she kicked the bucket. Sorry, not sorry. She was mostly annoying.
And what about those creepy werewolves loyal to Esther? Gone! Good riddance, I say.
Bye-Bye, Big Bads? Maybe...
Now, let's get to the juicy stuff. Esther Mikaelson, the original mama monster, died. Again.

Did we really believe she was gone for good? Come on, it's The Originals!
Then there was Finn Mikaelson, stuck in Vincent Griffith's body for a while. He ended up going too. I know I was happy about it.
The Heartbreakers (Or Were They?)
Here's where things get controversial. Some fans were devastated by certain deaths. I, however, remained relatively unbothered.

Mikael. The ultimate vampire hunter. Daddy dearest Mikaelson. He finally got what was coming to him.
Unpopular opinion: I wasn't that sad. He was a terrible father. Seriously, who needs that kind of baggage?
Let's not forget Aiden. He was the werewolf boyfriend to Josh. Awww, wasn't that cute? Aiden's death was actually sad. Okay, fine, I felt something.

The "Wait, They Died?" Club
There were a few deaths I honestly had to Google to remember. They were just… forgettable. Sorry not sorry!
Seriously, some of these characters felt like they were just there to fill a quota. A death quota, apparently.
The "Are They Really Dead?" Question
This is The Originals, people! Death is a suggestion, not a rule. Expect resurrections. Lots of them.

It's like a supernatural game of whack-a-mole. Someone dies, someone comes back. Rinse and repeat.
So, while a bunch of characters shuffled off this mortal coil in Season 2, let's be real: only a few deaths truly mattered. And maybe I'm just heartless, but some of them were long overdue.
What's your unpopular Originals death opinion? Let's hear it!
