Okay, General Hospital fans, let's talk! Remember a time when Michael Corinthos wasn't, well, quite so serious? Like, back when he was a mischievous kid, getting into scrapes and just generally being…lighter?

I miss that guy! It feels like he's been replaced by a super-serious, perpetually stressed-out businessman. He is always dealing with business deals, custody battles, and mob drama.

The Case of the Missing Michael

Where did our old Michael go? Did he fall into a parallel universe? Did he get abducted by aliens who only replaced him with a slightly more uptight version? (Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic.)

Think back! We had Michael who was causing trouble with Morgan. We had Michael who was learning about life. Now we have someone who seems to be drowning in paperwork and fraught with responsibility.

Exhibit A: The Smile Drought

Exhibit A, your honor: the smile! When's the last time we saw Michael genuinely crack a wide, carefree smile? Remember those early days? He was constantly grinning, even when he was up to no good!

Now, a smile from Michael is like spotting a unicorn. A rare and precious event. It's usually reserved for very specific circumstances.

Exhibit B: The Playful Banter Vanished

And what about the playful banter? The teasing with his siblings? The lighthearted moments? Remember those? Gone, poof! Vanished into thin air like Sonny's temper after a particularly good cannoli.

I am not saying that current Michael is not great. He is mature, responsible, and cares for his family. But I miss the fun.

So, a public service announcement: Has anyone seen the old Michael? The one who wasn't constantly burdened by the weight of the Corinthos empire? If found, please return to General Hospital immediately!

We promise to appreciate him, even if he occasionally gets into a bit of (harmless) trouble. A little chaos is good for the soul, right?

Seriously, GH writers, throw the guy a bone! Let Michael have a hobby! A bad singing habit! Anything that reminds us that he's still a human being underneath all that corporate responsibility.

Maybe he could take a pottery class with Willow, or get involved in a local theatre production. Picture Michael as a pirate in a community play – pure gold!

The Solution? A Little Less Mob, A Little More Merriment

The solution, I believe, is simple: a little less mob drama, a little more merriment. Let Michael rediscover his sense of humor. Let him embrace the lighter side of life. Let him maybe have a food fight in the kitchen with Wiley, Willow and Sonny.

Let him be a dad, a brother, a friend – not just a CEO. And, for goodness sake, let him smile again!

We know Chad Duell is an amazing actor, and he's doing a fantastic job portraying the character as he is written. But we, the viewers, yearn for a glimpse of the Michael we remember and love.

"Bring back the fun Michael!" - Me, and probably a lot of other fans.

So, here's hoping the writers are listening. Let's bring a little bit of sunshine back into Michael's life. Let's remind him (and ourselves) that even in Port Charles, there's room for laughter and joy.

Because honestly, a world with a perpetually glum Michael Corinthos is a world that's just a little bit dimmer. And nobody wants that!
