Where Did They Film The New Fantasy Island

Ever watched the new Fantasy Island and thought, "Wow, that's... pretty?" Like, seriously pretty?

I have a confession. I'm obsessed. But not just with the drama (oh, the drama!). It's the scenery! Where IS this magical place?

Apparently, the show mostly filmed in Puerto Rico. Specifically, around San Juan and Fajardo. See? Google doesn't lie...usually.

They even used some fancy resorts for the "Fantasy Island" hotel. Talk about living the dream! Imagine accidentally wandering onto a TV set during your vacation.

That would be awkward. But awesome. Definitely awesome.

My Unpopular Opinion (Prepare for Controversy!)

Okay, here it comes. Deep breath.

While Puerto Rico is gorgeous (no shade, Puerto Rico!), part of me thinks they CGI-ed it up a bit. Just a tiny bit.

Hear me out! The beaches are too perfect. The sunsets are too vibrant. Even the palm trees seem suspiciously symmetrical.

Is it just me, or does it sometimes feel like a screensaver come to life? A very expensive, well-acted screensaver, granted.

The "Fantasy" in Fantasy Island

Maybe that's the point, though. It's Fantasy Island, right?

It's not supposed to be a gritty, realistic portrayal of island life. It's escapism! Pure, unadulterated, tropical escapism.
