Ah, 7 Days to Die. That beautiful, blocky, zombie-infested world that has consumed countless hours of our lives. A game we all love, or at least love to complain about! But a question burns in the hearts of every survivor: When will this glorious, chaotic masterpiece finally be finished?

Let's be honest, 7 Days to Die has been in Alpha longer than some of us have been adults. It's like that friend who says they're totally going to clean their room, and then five years later, you're still navigating a treacherous landscape of dirty laundry. You still love them though, right?

So, how can we possibly predict the end of this Alpha saga? Well, we can analyze the clues like a seasoned detective searching for clues in a zombie apocalypse.

We can look at the frequency of updates. Each Alpha release generally introduces big changes. It’s safe to say that the closer to 1.0 we get, the fewer massive overhauls we will see.

Another good sign would be console parity. Remember the console version from Telltale Games? The Fun Pimps have stated their desire to bring the current PC version to consoles. That’s a huge task, meaning they are likely working toward a final product at some point!

Realistic Expectations and Rampant Speculation

Here's a radical thought: Maybe "finished" is overrated. Maybe the beauty of 7 Days to Die lies in its constant evolution. Like a fine wine, it just keeps getting...buggier? (Just kidding! Mostly.)

But realistically, and I use that word loosely, we could be looking at another year, maybe two, before a 1.0 release. It’s going to happen, one day!

Why We Don't Really Care

The truth is, even if 7 Days to Die remains in Alpha forever, many of us will still be playing. We'll still be screaming at our friends as a horde bears down on us. We'll still be meticulously crafting our bases, only to have them destroyed by a wandering bear.

Because it's fun! And that's what matters. The game is already endlessly replayable and engaging. Whether it hits version 1.0 or stays in Alpha, it’s a great game.
