When Is The Next Episode Of Our Kind Of People

Okay, Let's Talk About Our Kind of People
So, you're wondering when Our Kind of People returns? Join the club! We're all impatiently waiting.
Seriously, where is it? My Sunday nights feel so empty without the drama, the fabulous outfits, and the general fabulousness of it all.
The Million-Dollar Question: Where's Season 2?
That's the burning question, isn't it? Sadly, there isn't a Season 2 coming.
Must Read
It was canceled. I know. Major bummer. Feel free to join my pity party, BYOB and tissues provided.
We were all robbed, weren't we? Just when things were getting juicy! #JusticeForOurKindofPeople
Why the Axe? Sigh
The official reason? Low ratings. I know, I know. Unbelievable.
But maybe, just maybe, it was ahead of its time? Perhaps the world wasn't ready for such concentrated doses of fabulousness? I'm sticking with that.

Or maybe, gasp, Fox just didn't appreciate the brilliance of Lee Daniels! (Okay, unpopular opinion time, but it’s mine!)
So, What Can We Do Now? (Besides Cry)
Well, binge-watch the first (and only, sniff) season. Again. And again.
Let's be honest, we've all done it. Don't even try to deny it. You know you loved the drama between Angela and Leah!
Or, we can start a petition. Bring back Our Kind of People! Stranger things have happened.

Other Shows To Fill The Void (Sort Of)
While nothing can truly replace it, there are other shows out there. Shows that might scratch that itch.
Think shows like Empire (also a Lee Daniels production, naturally), Greenleaf, or even Dynasty (the reboot, of course).
They all have the drama, the wealth, and the secrets. But none of them can replace the Oak Bluffs magic. Sorry, not sorry.
Remember the Good Times (aka Season 1 Highlights)
Let's reminisce! Remember when Angela (Yaya DaCosta) arrived in Oak Bluffs ready to shake things up? Iconic.
And what about Teddy's (Joe Morton) secrets? The man was a walking, talking plot twist!

And, of course, the fashion! Those outfits were to die for. Costume department, you deserve an award!
My (Possibly Unpopular) Opinion
Here it comes... brace yourselves.
Maybe, just maybe, the show tried to do too much, too fast? It was ambitious, I'll give it that.
So many storylines, so little time! But hey, at least they went out with a bang (and a whole lot of drama!).

The End? Or Just a "See You Later?"
For now, it seems like it's the end of the road for Our Kind of People.
But hey, never say never! TV revivals are all the rage these days.
So, I'm holding out hope. Until then, I'll be over here re-watching Season 1 and dreaming of Oak Bluffs. Who's with me?
I'm also looking forward to seeing Yaya DaCosta next project.
She is talented, beautiful and captivating!
