When Is The New Season Of Saturday Night Live

Okay, let's be honest. We're all thinking it. When exactly is Saturday Night Live coming back? I mean, my weekends feel empty without it.

It feels like it's been forever, right? The last episode was ages ago. My DVR is gathering dust, patiently awaiting new sketches.

But hey, maybe that's just me. Perhaps I'm more obsessed than the average person. I'm not ashamed! I need my fix of questionable political humor and celebrity cameos.

The official date is usually in late September or early October. They like to kick off the fall season with some laughs. But "usually" is the key word here.

Sometimes it feels like they're playing a cruel game. A game of "guess the premiere date!" I'm starting to think Lorne Michaels enjoys our suffering.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show. I just wish they'd give us a little more notice. A simple tweet would suffice. Is that too much to ask?

The Unpopular Opinion Section

Here's where things get spicy. I have a confession to make. Sometimes, the break is good for the show.

Gasp! I know, I know. Blasphemy! But hear me out. The writers need time to recharge. They can't churn out gold every single week, can they?

A little downtime gives them a chance to come up with fresh ideas. New characters, better jokes, less reliance on Trump impressions (maybe?). That's what I hope for anyway.

What About the Cast?

They need a break too! Can you imagine the pressure of performing live every week? It sounds exhausting. Plus, some of them have movies to promote!

Everyone is busy, that is understandable. Just don't let Pete Davidson get another girlfriend. My brain can't handle anymore.

The break is essential. The cast can recharge and then give us their best performance.

The Countdown Begins (Again)

So, while we wait for the official announcement, we can speculate. We can re-watch old episodes. And we can dream of the perfect cold open.

Maybe SNL will surprise us with an early premiere. Or maybe they'll drag it out until November. Who knows?

And finally, a good balance of political and non-political humor. I need to laugh, not just feel depressed about the state of the world.
