When Is The Last Game Of The World Series

Ah, the World Series. Baseball's grand finale. The clash of titans. But let's be real, the most important question isn't "Who will win?" It's "When will this glorious torture end?"
The Endless October
October baseball. It sounds romantic, right? Crisp air, colorful leaves, and...three-and-a-half-hour games stretching late into the night. Suddenly, that PSL doesn't seem so appealing.
We all know the World Series can go to seven games. But does it have to? My unpopular opinion? It rarely needs that many.
Must Read
Game 4, Sweet Game 4
Hear me out. Game 4. That's the sweet spot. That’s the ideal end date. The series is either tied, or one team is on the verge of taking a commanding lead. Drama! Intrigue!
Plus, think about it. We've had a decent chunk of baseball. We've seen some heroes rise and some pitchers crumble. Isn’t that enough entertainment for one year?

My (Probably Wrong) Math
Let's do some highly scientific calculations. Assume a team wins the first three games. Boom! Sweep! Done! Everyone goes home happy (except the losing team and their fans, obviously).
Or, imagine a more balanced scenario. Two teams trade wins, leading to a thrilling 2-2 tie. Now that’s drama. A decisive Game 5 would be acceptable, too. But definitely no Game 7.
The Case Against Game 7
Game 7s. They're legendary. They're nail-biters. They're also incredibly stressful. Especially for the players. And their families. And anyone within a five-mile radius.

Think about the poor souls who stay up way past their bedtime, only to watch their team lose in heartbreaking fashion. Then they have to go to work the next day. That’s just cruel!
"But it's the ultimate test!" some will cry.
Sure, it's a test of endurance, mental fortitude, and the ability to handle immense pressure. But it’s also a test of my sanity. I am definitely failing.
The Argument for Early Resolution
Let's be honest, by Game 6 or 7, most of us are running on fumes. Our baseball enthusiasm has been depleted. We’ve eaten all the nachos. We need a break!

Ending the series earlier means we can all reclaim our lives. We can catch up on sleep. We can finally start that home improvement project we've been putting off. Or maybe just binge-watch Netflix. The possibilities are endless!
Think of the Children! (and the Adults!)
Consider the impact on the youth. Young fans forced to stay up late on school nights. Their little minds filled with dreams of walk-off home runs instead of algebra. Not ideal.
And the adults! We have responsibilities. Jobs. Errands. Laundry. We can’t all just devote our entire lives to baseball in October, no matter how much we love it.
In Conclusion (Sort Of)
So, when is the last game of the World Series? Ideally? Game 4. Realistically? Probably Game 6 or 7. But a man can dream, right?
Maybe one day, baseball will recognize the wisdom of my proposal. Maybe one day, we’ll all be celebrating a World Series champion before Halloween. A guy can hope.
In the meantime, I'll be stocking up on caffeine and preparing for another long October. Wish me luck. I will need it. Also, go Dodgers. Just because I have to.
