So, about that Hunter x Hunter Season 5 on Netflix… Anyone else feeling like they've been waiting approximately forever? Don't worry, you're not alone. We're all in this "Nen" withdrawal together.

I've lost count of how many times I've checked the "Coming Soon" section. It's become a ritual. I'm pretty sure my Netflix account thinks I only watch anime about teenagers fighting monsters. Okay, maybe it's not totally wrong.

The Great HxH Netflix Conspiracy (Maybe)

Is there some secret society preventing us from enjoying more Gon and Killua adventures? Are they hoarding all the episodes? I wouldn't put it past them.

Seriously though, what's the hold-up? Did someone lose the master tapes? Did Hisoka steal them to make us suffer? The possibilities are endless, and frankly, kind of hilarious.

My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)

Here it comes... I kind of preferred the 2011 version. Don't get me wrong, the original had its charm. But the updated animation? Chef's kiss!

Plus, I could actually see what was happening during the fight scenes. Less squinting, more enjoying the epicness. Fight me. (Just kidding... unless?).

Seriously though, that Chimera Ant arc... Whew. What a rollercoaster.

Theories Abound (aka Desperate Speculation)

Okay, so maybe there is a logical reason for the delay. Maybe it's licensing issues. Maybe they're waiting to drop it during a major anime convention. Or maybe, just maybe, Netflix is enjoying the suspense.

Whatever the reason, I'm starting to think I need a new hobby. Maybe learning Nen in real life? I'd probably just end up accidentally turning my TV remote into a weapon, though. (Although... that might be useful).

I keep seeing rumors online about a release date, but take them with a HUGE grain of salt. Until Netflix themselves announce it, it's all just wishful thinking.

What to Do While We Wait (Besides Rewatch Everything)

Re-watch the previous seasons! That's always a solid option. Analyze every single frame for clues about the future. Go deep down the Hunter x Hunter rabbit hole.

Read the manga! (If you haven't already). Prepare yourself for even MORE content. Just don't blame me when you become completely obsessed.

Or, and this is a radical idea, maybe... maybe we could find a different anime to watch. (Gasp!). Okay, I'm just kidding. Nothing can truly replace HxH.

Honestly? I have absolutely no clue. And that's the frustrating part. We're all just hanging on by a thread of hope.
