When Does The Intruder Come Out On Netflix

Okay, let's talk about something serious. Something that keeps me up at night. No, not world peace. I'm talking about The Intruder. And more specifically: When does that sneaky dude finally come out of hiding on Netflix?
I know, I know. Some people loved this movie. But I'm here to voice a potentially unpopular opinion: It took way too long for the titular intruder to actually, you know, intrude.
Act One: Setting the Stage (and My Nerves on Edge)
We get it. The couple buys a beautiful house. They're excited. They're naive. Great! Can we skip the twenty minutes of them picking out paint swatches? My popcorn is getting cold.
Must Read
Seriously, the "eeriness" is laid on thick. We SEE Dennis Quaid (playing the former owner) lurking around. We GET it. He's creepy. But is he going to DO anything?
The "Accidental" Encounters
The accidental run-ins are my favorite. "Oh, I was just mowing your lawn!" Suuuure you were, buddy. Maybe he was just lonely?

Or maybe he needed a serious hobby. Like, competitive bird watching or something. Anything to keep him off someone else's property!
Act Two: A Slow Burn (Turning Into a Smolder)
Okay, things start to get a little more intense. A little more...intruding. But still, it feels like we're wading through molasses.
A broken window here. A weird gift there. Subtle sabotage. I appreciate the build-up, I guess. But my suspense levels are plateauing.

My Unpopular Opinion
Here it is: I think the movie would have been better if he'd just gone full-blown psycho WAY earlier. Give us some chaotic energy! A surprise attack during brunch! Anything!
We're all just waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's like waiting in line at the DMV. We know it's coming, but the anticipation is almost worse than the actual event.
Act Three: Finally, Some Action (But Was It Worth the Wait?)
Alright! Things are happening! Screaming! Chasing! Property damage! The intruder has finally decided to fully commit to his job title.

The final showdown is...fine. But by this point, I'm so emotionally exhausted from waiting that I'm not even sure I care anymore.
Did I Miss Something?
Maybe I'm just impatient. Maybe I don't appreciate the subtle art of suspense. Maybe I should have just watched a different movie? (Don't tell Netflix I said that!).
But honestly, I felt like I spent more time anticipating the intrusion than actually witnessing it. I felt like the intruder was just waiting for the perfect moment to show up.

The Verdict: A Late Arrival
So, when does the intruder really come out on Netflix's The Intruder? Way too late, in my humble (and possibly incorrect) opinion.
Don't get me wrong. Dennis Quaid is fantastic. But even his amazing performance couldn't save me from the agonizingly slow build-up.
Next time, maybe let's skip the house tours and go straight to the home invasion? I think my nerves (and my popcorn) would appreciate it.
