What's Wrong With Secretary Kim Season 1

Okay, Let's Be Honest About What's Wrong With Secretary Kim
We all swooned. We all blushed. But, let's face it, What's Wrong With Secretary Kim wasn't perfect. I know, I know, gasp! Hear me out, though.
The Over-the-Topness Was...Over the Top?
Let's talk about Lee Young-joon. His narcissism? Chart-topping. His pronouncements? Shakespearean...if Shakespeare only talked about how amazing he was.
Sometimes it felt like I was watching a cartoon, not a rom-com. Did he really need to announce his attractiveness every five minutes? I get it, he's handsome, but chill!
Must Read
And the office drama? It felt a bit…manufactured. Like, "Okay, we need a conflict, let's make someone spill coffee!" Come on!
Kim Mi-so Deserved Better (Maybe?)
Don't get me wrong, Kim Mi-so is amazing. But did she have to put up with so much? Like, years of dedicated servitude to a man who barely noticed her as a person?

I know, the plot revolves around him finally realizing her worth. But still! Girl, you have options! Go travel, start a bakery, become a K-pop star!
And all the forced amnesia and childhood trauma? A bit much, don't you think? Kdramas love a good childhood trauma, but this felt dialed up to eleven.
The Side Characters Were...Underwhelming
Remember the supporting cast? Yeah, me neither, really. They were mostly just there to react to Young-joon and Mi-so's antics. Where was their depth?

That one coworker who was always gossiping? Annoying, not endearing. The other secretaries? Basically background props. Give these people some stories!
Even the rival suitor felt a bit… cardboard. He tried, bless his heart, but he was fighting a losing battle against the almighty Young-joon. Poor guy.
The Fashion...A Bit Much (Again!)
Okay, this might be a minor point, but the clothes! Young-joon's suits? Impeccable, but also…intimidating. Like he was always ready for a board meeting, even on a date.

And Mi-so's outfits? Always perfectly coordinated. Who has time for that? I barely manage to match my socks in the morning!
It felt like everyone was trying too hard to be stylish. Relax, people! You're at work, not a fashion show.
The Ending...A Tad Predictable?
Did anyone really think they weren't going to end up together? It was obvious from episode one! Where's the suspense?

The proposal scene? Sweet, sure. But also, kind of…anticlimactic. After all that build-up, it felt a bit rushed. More fireworks, please!
Look, I enjoyed What's Wrong With Secretary Kim. It was fluffy, fun, and perfect for a binge-watching session. But let's not pretend it was a masterpiece of television. It was flawed, over-the-top, and predictable. And sometimes, that's okay!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go re-watch it. Don't judge me!
