What We Do In The Shadows Show Trailer

Okay, let's talk What We Do in the Shadows. Specifically, the trailers for each season. I have some thoughts.
And maybe, just maybe, a mildly unpopular opinion or two. Prepare yourselves.
Trailers: A Necessary Evil?
First off, trailers. We all watch them. We all dissect them like vampire hunters with garlic cloves. But are they really that helpful?
Must Read
Sometimes, I think they give away too much. Like, I get it, gotta hook us. But leave some surprises, please?
Season One: Setting the Stage
The Season One trailer was genius. It introduced us to the cluelessness of Nandor, Nadja, Laszlo, and Colin Robinson.
Perfectly showcasing their awkward attempts at being scary vampires. The mockumentary style was immediately apparent and hilarious.
I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show about vampires doing laundry?

Season Two: Expanding the Universe
Season Two's trailer introduced us to even more weirdness. More vampire council meetings. More Guillermo trying to keep everyone alive.
And more of Colin Robinson sucking the energy out of...well, everything. Honestly, I think they peaked early with the "Jackie Daytona" bit in the trailer.
Don't get me wrong, the season was great. But "Jackie Daytona" felt like the trailer's mic drop moment.
Season Three: Going Global (Sort Of)
Season Three ramped things up. Vampire royalty! Power struggles! The fate of Guillermo hanging in the balance!

The trailer was packed with action. But did it feel a bit...overstuffed? Maybe.
It felt like they were trying to cram every single plot point in there. I think I preferred the earlier trailers' simplicity.
Season Four: The Baby!
Okay, the "Baby Colin Robinson" reveal was amazing. I’ll admit, I was hooked again.
The trailer promised pure chaos and awkward parenting. And boy, did it deliver!
But, yet again, it felt like they gave away a little too much of the "weird baby" plot line. Couldn’t we have been surprised for a few episodes?

Season Five: More of the Same (Which is Good!)
By Season Five, we knew what to expect. Silliness, supernatural shenanigans, and Guillermo's continued suffering.
The trailer was a solid reminder of why we love the show. But, honestly, it wasn't groundbreaking.
Maybe the show itself has become so consistently good that the trailers just can't keep up with the inherent greatness.
The Unpopular Opinion (Maybe?)
Here it comes. My unpopular opinion: the What We Do in the Shadows trailers are... good, but often slightly too revealing.

I know, I know. Blasphemy! But hear me out. I sometimes wish they held back a little more.
Let the jokes land fresh! Let the plot twists be actual twists! Is that too much to ask?
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, I'll still watch the trailers. I’ll still get excited. And I'll still binge-watch every season of What We Do in the Shadows.
It's just... maybe I'll watch the trailers with one eye closed from now on. Just in case.
After all, a little mystery never hurt anyone. Especially a vampire.
