What We Do In The Shadows Season 3 Episode 9

Okay, buckle up, buttercups, because we need to talk about the episode. You know, the one where everything went bonkers? The penultimate episode of What We Do In The Shadows Season 3, Episode 9? Yeah, that one. Prepare for some SPOILER-IFIC JOY!
Casino Night!
Our favorite vampires decide to throw a casino night. Like, a real casino night, complete with terrible (but hilarious) attempts at human disguise. Think Groucho Marx eyebrows meets bargain-bin Dracula costumes.
Laszlo, bless his slightly-less-than-perfect-pitch heart, tries to be the entertainer. His performance? Let’s just say Celine Dion has nothing to worry about. Picture a cat being strangled while attempting to yodel and you're halfway there.
Must Read
And of course, Nadja attempts to run the show like a boss. Which, let’s be honest, she totally is. She's giving off major glamourous vibes, even when screaming at Guillermo for using the wrong type of olive in the martinis. Priorities, people!
Colin Robinson's Evolution
Remember Colin Robinson? The energy vampire who used to bore us to tears (and secretly, himself)? Well, he’s… changing. He’s… evolving. Into something… else. Dare I say, cute?

He’s getting stronger. He’s eating… everything. Picture that scene from Matilda where Bruce Bogtrotter eats the entire chocolate cake, but make it unsettling and slightly endearing. That’s Colin Robinson these days.
And the glow! Oh, the glow! He’s practically radiating good vibes. Okay, maybe not good vibes, but definitely different vibes. Vibes that make you wonder if you should start hoarding energy bars just in case.

Nandor's Search for Love
Oh, Nandor. Our big, strong, ancient warrior who just wants someone to love him. It's getting real, folks! He wants to pick a wife to be with forever.
The dating app is back, and it's just as disastrous as you can imagine. Remember that one time you swiped right on someone who looked vaguely normal and then realized they collect porcelain dolls? Yeah, Nandor's dating life is basically that, multiplied by a thousand years of awkwardness.

His ex-girlfriends, from the djinn, all the way to the very long term, all return to give him feedback. It's like This Is Your Life, but with more fangs and existential dread.
Guillermo, The Secret Weapon
Our faithful familiar, Guillermo! He's always there, dusting the coffins, saving the vampires from themselves, and secretly being a vampire hunter extraordinaire. He has skills.

We get to see him truly shine in this episode. Let's just say a particular vampire hunter organization might want to recruit him. Maybe he can have it all. A life for himself, whilst keeping his favorite vampires safe from harm.
The Cliffhanger!
And then… the ending! Oh, the delicious, maddening cliffhanger! It involves Colin Robinson, a lot of goo, and a very surprised Guillermo. I can't spoil it completely, but let's just say you'll be screaming at your TV. And maybe ordering pizza to cope with the emotional fallout. It is pure genius!
This episode is a rollercoaster of emotions, packed with the show's trademark humor and heart. You will laugh. You will gasp. You might even shed a tear (or two, if you're as emotionally invested in these ridiculous creatures as I am). This is What We Do In The Shadows at its finest, and you absolutely need to witness it for yourself.
