What We Do In The Shadows Season 3 Ep 1

Okay, Let's Talk What We Do In The Shadows Season 3 Premiere
Guys, the wait was over! Season 3 of What We Do In The Shadows finally dropped. We were all ready for vampire shenanigans. Did it deliver? Mostly, yeah.
But I have thoughts. Some of them might be considered... controversial.
The Council Is In Session (Sort Of)
The episode opens with the fallout from the whole Guillermo-is-a-vampire-killer reveal. Awkward doesn't even begin to cover it. Nadja, Nandor, and Laszlo are understandably freaked out.
Must Read
Then, bam! They're suddenly in charge. They become the heads of the Vampiric Council. I'm not entirely sold on this plot twist yet.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here it comes. I think the "vampires running a council" bit is a little... obvious? The show shines brightest when it's dealing with the mundane aspects of vampire life. Vacuuming up vampire dust, anyone?
Don't get me wrong, the jokes were still there. Nadja's power trip was hilarious. And Laszlo's commitment to being weird never fails. But the council stuff felt a little too structured. A little too... normal?

Maybe I just miss the chaos of the earlier seasons. Remember when they accidentally killed a bunch of people at a community theater production? Good times.
Guillermo: Still the Best (and the Most Underappreciated)
Let's be real, Guillermo carries this show. His reactions are gold. His frustration is relatable. And his hidden badassery is chef's kiss.
He's the only one who seems to have a shred of common sense. But of course, nobody listens to him. He’s always cleaning up their messes. Literally and figuratively.

I'm patiently waiting for the moment he finally snaps. Or better yet, embraces his vampire-killing destiny and becomes the ultimate slayer. Now that's a spin-off I'd watch.
Colin Robinson: The Energy Vampire We All Know and Love
Our favorite energy vampire, Colin Robinson, is still sucking the joy out of everything. His scenes are always a highlight. Even when he's just talking about tax audits.
The joke about him being a "day walker" because he's boring is still funny. Because it's true! I have met some Colin Robinsons in my life, and I'm sure you have too.

I'm curious to see what they do with his character this season. He's got untapped potential for maximum annoyance.
The Verdict: Still Good, But Needs More Crazy
The season 3 premiere of What We Do In The Shadows was solid. It had funny moments, memorable characters, and the signature awkward humor we all love.
However, it lacked a certain spark for me. The council plotline felt a little generic. I'm hoping the show will lean more into the absurd and less into the structured power dynamics.

I just want to see more random vampire stuff! More silly costumes! And definitely more of Guillermo being a reluctant hero.
So, what did you think? Am I totally off base? Or are you also secretly hoping for more unhinged vampire antics?
"Bat!" - Nadja
