What We Do In The Shadows Season 2 Ep 8

Okay, let's talk What We Do In The Shadows Season 2, Episode 8: "Collaboration." I know everyone loves this show. And, look, I get it. It's hilarious.
But, am I the only one who thinks this episode is... a bit overrated? I'm bracing myself for the backlash, trust me. This might be an unpopular opinion.
The Premise: Vampires and Witches...Working Together?
The basic idea is that the vampires need the witches' help. They have a ghost problem. A very annoying ghost problem, courtesy of Nadja.
Must Read
So, the Staten Island vamps begrudgingly agree to "collaborate" with a coven of local witches. Cue the awkwardness, the insults, and the general supernatural mayhem.
What Everyone Loves
People seem to adore the witch coven. They're quirky and wonderfully weird. The whole séance scene is definitely a highlight.
And Laszlo's "possessed" performance? Pure gold. He always brings the comedy.

The dynamic between the vampires and the witches is also a goldmine. Watching them try (and fail) to understand each other is funny.
My Not-So-Hot Take
Here's where I might lose some of you. I just didn't find it as hilarious as everyone else did. Don't get me wrong, it had its moments.
But some of the jokes felt a little forced. Like they were trying too hard to be weird. Maybe it's just me?
Plus, I felt the plot was a bit thin. Ghost problems are fine. But I felt it was slightly weaker than some of the other storylines.

I feel like the build-up to the collaboration wasn't executed well. The conflict between the vampire and the witch group was not emphasized. They just jumped into the collaboration.
Nandor's Boredom: Relatable AF
However, one thing I did connect with was Nandor's utter boredom during the witch's rituals. His glazed-over expression? I feel you, dude.
We've all been in meetings that feel like they're lasting an eternity. Especially those involving crystals and chanting. That's the relatable part.
He just wants to get the job done. This is a perfect depiction of real life. I find it funny.

Guillermo: The Unsung Hero
As always, Guillermo is the MVP. He is the only one who keeps everything under control. He handles the vampires' problems and the witch's problem.
He's the only one who seems to have any common sense. He quietly saves the day while everyone else is bickering.
He is really the best character in this show. No doubt about that!
Conclusion: Still Good, Just Not My Fave
So, yeah, "Collaboration" is a decent episode. It just doesn't rank as one of my top favorites from the season.

I think there are other episodes that are funnier and more creative. I think it is a weaker episode in Season 2.
Maybe my standards are too high! I'm looking at you Season 2 Episode 1!
But hey, that's just my opinion. And we all know what they say about opinions... everyone's got one.
What do you think? Am I totally off base? Let me know! I'm ready for the debate.
