What We Do In The Shadows Council Cast

Okay, let's talk What We Do in the Shadows. Specifically, that ridiculously amazing Vampire Council. I have some thoughts. Possibly controversial ones.
The Council: A Necessary Evil (or Hilarious Good?)
Let's be honest. The Council scenes are gold. Pure, unadulterated comedic gold. But are they all created equal?
I mean, we love cameos! But are some cameos just... better?

My Unpopular Opinion: Not All Council Members Shine Equally
Brace yourselves. I'm about to say it. Some of the Council appearances, while fun, felt a little phoned in.
Don't get me wrong, seeing all those famous faces is a treat. But a few felt like they were just, well, there.
Like, did we really get a sense of their character in those brief moments? Or was it just, "Hey, look! It's that person!"
For example, Tilda Swinton. Iconic. Absolutely legendary. But did her appearance truly add anything substantial?
Perhaps the appearance was iconic enough to just be there.

The Ones Who Nailed It
Now, let's talk about the ones who absolutely crushed it. The ones who made the Council meetings truly unforgettable.
Wesley Snipes (via Skype). Genius. Pure, unadulterated genius. That was a cameo that understood the assignment.
His commitment to the bit? The unwavering seriousness? Perfection. Chef's kiss.
And let's not forget Paul Reubens. His comedic timing was impeccable. He knew exactly how to play the undead weirdo.
The energy! The enthusiasm! The slightly unsettling vibe! It was all there.

Also, shout out to Evan Rachel Wood. Her deadpan delivery was chef's kiss and felt seamlessly integrated.
Another appearance I really enjoyed was Danny Trejo, he felt right at home!
The Problem with Too Many Cameos?
Maybe this is just me. Maybe I'm a grumpy vampire in disguise.
But sometimes, I feel like the sheer number of cameos can detract from the core story. It becomes more about the celebrity sighting than the actual plot.
Like, are we watching What We Do in the Shadows or a Hollywood Squares reunion show?

It's Still Amazing, Though
Look, I'm not saying the Council scenes are bad. They're consistently hilarious. And the writers clearly have a blast coming up with them.
But I think a little restraint might actually make them even better. Quality over quantity, you know?
Maybe focus on a smaller number of appearances, but give those appearances more depth and substance.
I can be happy regardless, as long as they keep bringing more of the show.
Ultimately, it is a great show and the Council cameos adds to it.

I will always come back for more.
Final Thoughts (and a Plea)
So, that's my take. An unpopular opinion, perhaps. But one I felt needed to be shared.
What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Or do you agree that some Council members outshine others?
Either way, let's all raise a glass (of blood... or cranberry juice) to the brilliance of What We Do in the Shadows. And let's hope for even more hilarious Council meetings in the future. Preferably with more Wesley Snipes.
My plea to the writers, more Wesley Snipe, please!
