What Time Monday Night Football Game Come On

Monday Night Football: When Does the Madness Begin?
Ah, Monday Night Football. The bane of productivity, the joy of couch potatoes everywhere. But what time does this weekly spectacle actually start?
The answer, as anyone who's accidentally started dinner prep at the wrong time knows, is usually 8:15 PM Eastern Time. Yes, I said usually.
The 8:15 PM "ish" Start Time
Now, 8:15 PM sounds straightforward. But let's be real, it's more of a suggestion. A guideline. A polite fiction we all agree to uphold.
Must Read
Because let's face it, pre-game coverage starts, like, 3 hours before. And those commercials? They could fill a small country. It's a slow crawl to kickoff.
I find the whole thing to be a long wait. It can feel like time is just slowly moving.
My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)
Here comes the controversial part. The take that will likely get me banished from all fantasy football leagues. Ready?

I think 8:15 PM is way too late. There, I said it. Don't @ me.
Seriously, who isn't exhausted by Monday evening? We've all battled the Monday blues. Some of us also have kids to put to bed! It’s hard to stay awake!
The "I Have a Life" Crowd
I know, I know, some of you are thinking, "Just don't watch it!" Easier said than done, my friend. Easier said than done.
Especially if your team is playing. Or if you have money riding on it. Or if, like me, you’re inexplicably drawn to the chaos.

It's basically an unwritten rule to watch Monday Night Football. Or, at least, pretend to be interested when people ask.
The Ideal MNF Start Time (According to Me)
If I were in charge (which, thankfully, I'm not), I'd move the kickoff to, say, 7:00 PM Eastern. Early enough to enjoy the game without sacrificing precious sleep.
Think of it: you could actually watch the whole thing and still feel functional on Tuesday! A revolutionary concept, I know.
Instead, I feel like I'm forced to make a choice between Monday Night Football and my sleep schedule.

But Wait, There's More (Commercials!)
Of course, even at 7:00 PM, we'd still have to contend with the endless parade of commercials. The ones selling trucks and beer and questionable pharmaceuticals.
Maybe the earlier start time would give us more time to fast-forward through those. Or, you know, finally get up and do the dishes.
We're going to have to sit through those commercials. You can't avoid them at all.
The Reality: 8:15 PM (Give or Take)
So, for now, we're stuck with the 8:15 PM kickoff. We'll just have to power through the exhaustion, the commercials, and the inevitable questionable calls by the refs.

Maybe someday, the NFL will hear my plea. Until then, I'll be over here, mainlining caffeine and trying to stay awake until halftime.
Enjoy the game... or at least, try to. And remember to set your alarm clock for Tuesday morning. You'll need it.
Now excuse me as I prepare to consume an entire pot of coffee before the actual game begins.
I also need to take a short nap. I'm exhausted thinking about all of this.
