What Time Is Demon Slayer Set In

So, Demon Slayer, right? Awesome anime. But let’s talk time periods. Because honestly? It’s a little…fuzzy.

Everyone says it's the Taisho era. We get it. Early 1900s Japan. Kimonos, swords, demons... makes sense.

Is it REALLY the Taisho Era Though?

But hold on a second. Let's think about it. Have you ever felt like something felt off? I sure did.

I mean, they have some seriously advanced tech for the "early 1900s".

Think about the transportation! Trains are obviously there. But also those weird contraptions Yushiro uses?

And what about those demon-fighting swords that change color? Sounds super futuristic to me!

I am not saying they have smartphones. But, it is awfully convenient for folks who are supposedly fighting monsters in the pre-World War I era.

Alright, the clothes are beautiful. Kimonos and haori jackets galore! So cute!

But then you get some characters with haircuts that look like they stepped out of a modern runway. Not gonna lie, it is stylish.

Plus, some of the demon designs are pretty wild. Very creative, but perhaps more "fantasy" than "historical"?

Here's my unpopular opinion. Ready? Demon Slayer is not strictly set in the Taisho era.

Okay, maybe it starts there. But it bends the rules. Big time.

It's more of a "Taisho-inspired fantasy world." A world where cool fashion, ancient sword fighting, and crazy tech can all co-exist!

Hear me out! Maybe those demons are pulling technology from other dimensions.

Perhaps the demon realm is a gateway to the future.

That's why they have such bizarre powers and access to technology that doesn't match the time period.

At the end of the day, does it really matter? We're watching people slice demons with shiny swords!

Maybe we should just enjoy the ride. Let's embrace the stylish characters and crazy stories.

Because the rule of cool overrides everything else. Right?
