What Order Does The Transformers Movies Go In

Okay, let's talk Transformers. Those giant robots who love to smash things. Figuring out the movie order can feel like trying to untangle Optimus Prime's trailer hitch.

Everyone thinks they know the right way. But does anyone really? I have a controversial opinion.

The "Official" Order (and Why It's Wrong)

The "official" order is probably what you see on streaming services. It usually goes: Transformers (2007), Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon, Age of Extinction, The Last Knight, Bumblebee, and then Rise of the Beasts. Sounds logical, right?

WRONG. Chronological order doesn't equal best viewing order. Some of those movies... well, they exist.

My Much Better, Totally Superior Order

Forget what you know. We're going on a journey. A journey of giant robots, questionable plotlines, and explosions. Mostly explosions.

First, Transformers (2007). It's a classic. It introduced us to the world, even with Shia LeBeouf screaming.

Then, skip everything until Bumblebee. Seriously. Skip Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon, Age of Extinction, and The Last Knight. Consider them a fever dream.

Bumblebee is a soft reboot. It's heartwarming, it has a great soundtrack, and it's actually good! Hailee Steinfeld rocks.

After Bumblebee, watch Rise of the Beasts. It continues the slightly rebooted timeline. Plus, who doesn't love some Maximals?

What About the Bad Ones?

So what to do with the... let's call them "less good" movies? Maybe watch them if you're really bored. Like, really bored.

Or if you want to see how many explosions Michael Bay can fit into a single film. The answer is: a lot.

If you must watch them, space them out. Use them as palate cleansers between better movies. Though, honestly, cleaning your palate with motor oil might be more enjoyable.

I personally think Revenge of the Fallen is okay for the memes. It's hilariously bad. It features racist caricatures, but has some good action in a bad movie sandwich.

Don't go in expecting cinematic gold, expect memes.
