I propose Captain America: Civil War is secretly The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Yes, I know, it sounds crazy!

But let's break it down.

First, Spider-Man showed up. A younger, slightly awkward Spider-Man.

Just like they were planning after The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

Second, Spider-Man's introduction felt... rushed.

Like they were quickly shoehorning him into an existing plot.

Almost like they had to rewrite a movie to include him. Sounds familiar, right?

Tony Stark recruits Peter Parker. Why?

Because they needed a sympathetic teenager to balance the grim tone of Civil War. Just a hunch!

And also, Sony and Marvel made a deal. A deal that could have saved The Amazing Spider-Man universe in a weird way.

Plus, Civil War is kinda depressing. Not exactly a lighthearted Spidey flick.

But maybe that’s the point! Peter Parker in a darker world.
