What Happened To The Hound In Game Of Thrones
So, The Hound. Sandor Clegane. Big guy, scary face, loved chickens. Remember him?
The Hound: From Nuisance to… Nice-ish?
He started off pretty rough. A royal bodyguard, mostly brooding and snapping at people. He didn't seem like a contender for anyone's favorite character.
Then Arya Stark came along. Their unlikely road trip was… well, unique. They bickered, they fought, but they kind of understood each other, right?

Was He Really Redeemed? My Unpopular Opinion
Here’s where I might lose some of you. Everyone says The Hound got redeemed. He found peace at that monastery, then protected Arya.
But did he, though? Did he really change that much? I'm not so sure. Maybe he just ran out of people to hate more than himself.
Think about it. He still craved violence. He still had that simmering rage. His final showdown with The Mountain proves it.

Chicken Obsessed or Truly Transformed?
Okay, the chicken thing was cute. I'll give him that. But a love for poultry doesn't automatically erase years of brutal behavior.
Remember when he burned his brother’s face? Yeah, not exactly a saint in the making. Redemption requires a bit more than just liking chickens.
Maybe he was just tired of being mean. Being grumpy is hard work, after all!

The Cleganebowl: A Fiery Finale
Let's be honest, the Cleganebowl was epic. Two brothers, years of animosity, a volcano about to erupt... Shakespeare couldn't have written it better.
But it was also… pointless? Did it actually accomplish anything other than killing two already terrible guys? I'm still not convinced.
The Hound went out the way he lived: angry, violent, and determined to settle a score. Poetic, sure. Redeemed? Debatable.

So, What Really Happened to Him?
He died. That's what happened. Crushed by a crumbling castle and his monstrous brother. End of story, right?
But maybe something more happened. Maybe, just maybe, he found a sliver of peace in those final moments. Or maybe he was just relieved it was finally over.
Perhaps The Hound never truly changed. Perhaps he was always just a complicated, broken man trying to survive in a brutal world.

My Final, Possibly Controversial, Thought
The Hound's story isn't about redemption. It's about survival. It's about finding a purpose, even a violent one, in a world gone mad.
He did what he needed to do. He protected Arya. He faced his demons (literally!). And he went out in a blaze of glory (and lava).
So, did The Hound find redemption? I'm not sure. But he definitely gave us one heck of a story. And that's good enough for me.
He died as The Hound, not Sandor. And maybe that was all he ever could be. What do you think?
