What Happened To Fly From Second City Ink

Remember Second City Ink? Yeah, that amazing comic book shop from back in the day. They were the place for indie comics. And they had this cool character: Fly.
But what happened to Fly? The real question is: does anyone really miss him?
Let's Be Honest About Fly
Okay, unpopular opinion incoming! Fly wasn't that great. I know, I know, sacrilege! But hear me out.
Must Read
He was...fine. Just fine. A dude. With wings. In a city of superheroes, that's like being a pigeon with extra confidence.
Was He Overhyped?
Maybe Second City Ink pushed him too hard. They wanted their own Spider-Man. But Fly just didn't stick.
His powers were...flight. And maybe a little super strength? It felt like they were making it up as they went along.

The villains were forgettable too. I can barely remember any of them. Anyone else?
The Real Heroes of Second City Ink
Second City Ink had other amazing characters. The Night Watch! Now they were cool. Dark, brooding, mysterious.
Or what about Psi-Girl? Telekinesis is way cooler than just flying. Just saying.
Even the grumpy shop owner, Old Man Fitzwilliam, had more personality than Fly. He was a legend in his own right!

Fly's Untimely Demise?
Maybe Fly just wasn't relevant anymore. Comic book trends change fast. Super-powered flight isn't exactly groundbreaking now, is it?
Perhaps he was quietly retired. Sent off to a farm upstate. Where he can fly in peace.
Or maybe Second City Ink realized they had a dud. It happens! No shame in admitting it.
So, Where Is He Now?
Honestly, who knows? Probably gathering dust in some forgotten comic book long box.

Maybe he'll make a comeback someday. A gritty reboot! Fly: Dark Knight Returns edition.
But let's be real. There are better stories to tell. Comics are full of them!
My Unpopular Opinion
Look, I'm not saying Fly was terrible. Just…underwhelming.
And maybe that's okay. Not every character needs to be a superstar. Sometimes they can just fade away.

So, to Fly. We hardly knew ye. And maybe that's for the best.
"Sometimes, the greatest trick a comic book character ever pulled was disappearing." - Someone wise (probably)
But Second City Ink, you were awesome! Thanks for the memories. Even the ones that involved a slightly boring, winged hero.
Anyone else agree? Or am I totally alone on this one?
