What Happened To Buck On 911 Last Season

Remember Buck? From 9-1-1?
Yeah, that guy. The one with the floppy hair and the even floppier love life.
Last season, things got...weird. And I have some thoughts. Maybe even an unpopular opinion or two.
The Lightning Strike Heard 'Round the Fandom
So, Buck got struck by lightning. Dramatic, right? Peak 9-1-1, honestly.
Must Read
He was basically dead. Then, magically, he wasn't. Cue the existential crisis!
But here's where I get a little...annoyed. It felt like a plot device, not a character development opportunity.
The "Am I Enough?" Arc: A Little Much?
Post-lightning, Buck was all about self-discovery. He questioned his purpose. He worried about disappointing everyone.
We get it, dude. You had a near-death experience. But did we really need another season of Buck feeling lost?

I mean, he's been "finding himself" since season one! Give the man a break (and maybe a stable relationship).
The Therapy Sessions: Necessary or Just Filler?
Okay, therapy is important. I'm not knocking therapy. But Buck's sessions felt…convenient.
They were like little exposition dumps. “Let me tell you everything the writers want you to know about my emotional state.”
Did anyone else feel like they were watching a very polished, very telegenic therapy advertisement?

The Sister Drama: Still Going Strong?
Let's not forget Maddie! Buck's relationship with his sister is the definition of complex.
All that past sibling drama, the secret baby, the abandonment issues... It's a lot!
Sometimes I wonder if they need a couples therapist. Or maybe just a very long, very honest conversation.
The Unpopular Opinion: Buck Needs a New Storyline
Okay, here it is. My unpopular opinion.

I think Buck needs a new narrative. Less angst, more action. Less internal struggle, more external impact.
Let him rescue a cat from a tree without having an identity crisis, for once!
What I Do Appreciate About Buck
Don't get me wrong, I like Buck. He's got a good heart (even if he does make questionable decisions).
He cares about his friends. He's brave (sometimes recklessly so). He's got potential!

I just think the writers aren't always using him to his full potential.
Looking Ahead: What's Next for Our Favorite Firefighter?
So, what does the future hold for Buck? Will he finally find lasting happiness?
Will he ever stop accidentally setting things on fire (both literally and figuratively)?
Only time (and the next season of 9-1-1) will tell. But I'm hoping for less soul-searching and more butt-kicking!
What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Let me know in the comments!
