What Happened In Season 3 Of Handmaid's Tale

Okay, let's be honest. Season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale? A wild ride. But also... a little bit of a mess, right?
We saw June Osborne, bless her rebellious heart, continue to be the ultimate thorn in Gilead's side. Seriously, that woman is persistent.
June's Grand Plan (or lack thereof)
Her main goal seemed to be: escape. But also: save all the children. And also: overthrow Gilead. Talk about multi-tasking!
Must Read
Remember when she was supposed to get 52 kids out? That was, uh, ambitious. Like, Netflix-binge-watching-an-entire-season-in-one-sitting ambitious.
The Martha network got a serious upgrade. Suddenly every housemaid was a secret agent. Move over, James Bond!
Serena's Shifting Loyalties
And then there's Serena Joy. Oh, Serena. What a complicated character!.
One minute she's plotting with June. The next, she's back in Gilead's good graces (sort of). Can she just pick a side already?

Let's be real, she loved Nichole. That much was crystal clear. Did she think things through? Not so much.
Her actions regarding Nichole felt more like a desperate grab for control. She tried to make it work! Remember that?
Commander Lawrence: The Enigmatic Mastermind?
Commander Lawrence joined the fray. Was he good? Was he bad? We couldn't really tell.
He helped June with her crazy schemes. But he also seemed pretty chill with the whole Gilead thing. Make it make sense!

Maybe he was just bored. And chaos was his preferred form of entertainment. Who can relate?
The Great Escape (Spoiler Alert: It Happened)
The season culminated in the Big Escape. You know, the one with the plane and all the kids?
It was tense. It was dramatic. It was also kind of unbelievable. I mean, how did they manage to get all those kids on a plane without anyone noticing?
The logistics alone! Feeding them all? Keeping them quiet? Props to the Marthas. Those women deserve hazard pay.

It was undeniably satisfying to see those kids finally leaving Gilead. But a part of me was thinking, "Okay, what's June gonna do next? "
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Here's where I might get some hate mail: Season 3 felt a bit... draggy. It's true!.
There were moments of brilliance. But also, a lot of June staring intensely. At walls. At Commanders. At pretty much everything.
We kept waiting for her to take down Gilead. Yet she was more focused on other schemes. That led to the plane.

Let's face it, June made some questionable decisions. Like, really questionable.
Sometimes, it felt like she was just creating problems for herself. And then expecting everyone else to fix them.
Still, we rooted for her anyway. Why? Because she's June Osborne. And we're suckers for a good underdog story, even when the underdog is making questionable choices.
So, yeah, Season 3 happened. It was a rollercoaster. And while it wasn't perfect, it definitely kept us talking. What did you think?
