What Chapter Does Hunter X Hunter End

So, Where Does Hunter x Hunter REALLY End? (An Unpopular Opinion)
Okay, let's be real. Hunter x Hunter is amazing. But when does it actually end? This is a question that haunts fans more than the Phantom Troupe.
I have a slightly controversial take. Prepare yourselves. Some might even call it heretical.
The Obvious (But Wrong) Answers
First, the obvious answer: "It's still ongoing!" True... technically. Yoshihiro Togashi is the master of hiatuses. We love him (and anxiously await his return).
Must Read
Then there's the "end of an arc" idea. The Chimera Ant arc? Nope. That was fantastic, mind-blowing, but NOT the end.
What about when Gon gets his Nen back? Still no. It's a satisfying moment, sure. But the story keeps chugging along.
My Unpopular Opinion: The Election Arc
Here it is. Deep breaths, everyone. I think Hunter x Hunter ends with the Election arc.

Hold on! Don't throw your Nen-infused tomatoes at me yet. Hear me out.
Yes, there's the voyage to the Dark Continent afterward. But that feels...different. It's almost like a completely new series.
Why the Election Arc Makes Sense
Consider this: Gon's character arc mostly concludes here. He achieves his goal of meeting Ging. Their father-son talk is... well, it's a talk.

More importantly, Gon is basically "reset." He's back to being a normal kid. He has to relearn Nen. It's a fresh start, a clean slate.
The election also wraps up many loose ends. We see the Hunter Association shift and change. New leaders emerge.
The Dark Continent: A Side Quest?
The Dark Continent feels like a massive side quest. A very, very dangerous and complicated side quest, granted. But still a side quest.
It introduces a whole new set of characters and lore. It's exciting, sure. But it dilutes the original story's focus, in my humble opinion.

Plus, let's be honest, who knows when (or if) we'll ever see a conclusion to the Dark Continent arc anyway?
Acceptance (Maybe)
I know many of you disagree. You love the Dark Continent! You're invested in the new characters! That's totally valid.
But for me, the Election arc provides the most satisfying stopping point. It provides closure for Gon's journey.
So, next time someone asks where Hunter x Hunter ends, consider this: Maybe it ended a while ago. And maybe, just maybe, that's okay.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch the Election arc. And pretend it's the end. Shhh, don't tell anyone!
This is all subjective, of course. Ultimately, Hunter x Hunter's ending is whatever you want it to be. Until Togashi-sensei decides otherwise! (Please come back!)
