What Can I Do For You Steven Universe

Okay, let's be real. Steven Universe is amazing. But sometimes, I just wanna yell at my TV.
Like, seriously, Steven. What exactly CAN I do for you?
Emotional Labor: The Unpaid Internship
Look, I get it. You're half-Gem, half-human. You've got a lot going on. But every episode feels like an emotional therapy session, and I'm not a licensed therapist.
Must Read
My hourly rate is Netflix and snacks. Sorry, not sorry.
Don't get me wrong, I love helping people. But I also have my own issues! Who's going to solve MY problems? Steven? I think not.
Healer or Hoarder?
Steven wants to heal EVERYONE. Even the space dictators who tried to destroy Earth. Even White Diamond!

It's admirable, I guess. But also a little exhausting to watch. Some people just need a good time-out, not a cosmic hug.
Maybe some villains should just stay villains? It would save everyone a lot of drama. Just saying.
The Power of "No"
Has Steven ever said "no"? I'm genuinely asking. Because I can't remember a single instance.
Seriously, kid, learn to set some boundaries. Your mental health will thank you.

Saying "no" is healthy! It's empowering! It means you value your own time and energy.
Connie, Save Us All
Thank goodness for Connie. She's the voice of reason we all desperately need. Someone has to tell Steven that he can't fix everything.
Maybe she should run a workshop for the Crystal Gems? "Boundary Setting 101". I'd sign up!
Connie, if you're reading this: You're doing great. Keep up the good work. We appreciate you.

Unpopular Opinion Time
Okay, here it comes. Brace yourselves. Steven Universe is amazing, but sometimes a little selfishness is okay.
It's okay to prioritize your own needs. It's okay to take a break. It's okay to not want to deal with intergalactic drama.
Is that so wrong? I think not!
My Therapy Bill is in the Mail
Ultimately, I love Steven Universe. The music, the characters, the heartwarming messages. It's all wonderful.

But sometimes, I just need Steven to take a chill pill. Or, you know, let me watch some other show for a change. The emotional toll is heavy.
So, what CAN I do for you, Steven Universe? Maybe... recommend a good therapist? I hear space therapists are pretty good these days.
Just kidding! (Mostly.) But seriously, take care of yourself, buddy. We're all rooting for you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need a nap. All this emotional processing has worn me out.
And maybe, just maybe, a little less cosmic drama next season? Please?
