What Are All The Dragonball Series In Order

So, you want to dive into the world of screaming Saiyans, energy blasts, and ridiculously spiky hair? Welcome! Getting into Dragon Ball can seem daunting with all the different series. But don't worry, it's easier than perfecting the Kamehameha.
The Original Recipe: Dragon Ball
First up is simply Dragon Ball. This is where it all began. Think of it as the childhood adventures of Goku, a monkey-tailed kid who's stronger than your average bear (or Saiyan, for that matter).
It's more adventure and humor-focused than later installments. Goku meets Bulma, a brilliant inventor, and together they search for the Dragon Balls. Expect plenty of martial arts tournaments, silly villains, and heartwarming friendships.
Must Read
Teenage Troubles: Dragon Ball Z
Then comes Dragon Ball Z (DBZ). This is probably the series you think of when you picture Dragon Ball. Things get more serious, the stakes get higher, and the transformations get wilder.
Goku is all grown up, facing off against planet-busting villains like Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu. Prepare for epic battles that last for episodes, power-ups that seem impossible, and the iconic Super Saiyan transformation. It's peak Dragon Ball melodrama, and we love it.

A Bit of Controversy: Dragon Ball GT
Next, we have Dragon Ball GT. This series is...controversial. It wasn't based on Akira Toriyama's original manga, and opinions on it are very divided.
Goku gets turned into a kid again (yes, really), and he, Pan (his granddaughter), and Trunks go on a galactic adventure. It has some interesting ideas and introduces Super Saiyan 4, which is undeniably cool (and hairy), but it's often considered the weakest link.
"Did we really need a baby Goku again?" - A common GT complaint.
Back to Basics (Sort Of): Dragon Ball Super
After a break, we got Dragon Ball Super (DBS). This series is a direct sequel to Dragon Ball Z and ignores the events of GT entirely. It's like GT never happened!

Goku and Vegeta face off against Gods of Destruction, participate in inter-universal tournaments, and unlock even more powerful transformations like Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Instinct. The animation can be inconsistent at times, but the scale and stakes are unbelievably high.
The Present (For Now): Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero
Currently, the latest installment is the movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. While not a series, it continues the story of Dragon Ball Super and features a new animation style.

This movie puts Gohan and Piccolo in the spotlight as they battle the Red Ribbon Army's latest android creations. It's a fun, action-packed movie with some great character moments, especially for those two green guys.
So, In Order...
To recap, the main series in order are: Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT (optional!), and Dragon Ball Super. After that, check out Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero!
Don't be afraid to skip around or watch in a different order if you want. The most important thing is to enjoy the ride and the explosive energy of Dragon Ball!
