Watch This Is Us Season 6 Episode 10

Okay, let's talk about This Is Us Season 6, Episode 10. Specifically, the one titled "Every Version of You." Remember it? Of course, you do. We all cried. It's mandatory.
But here's my controversial take: It's... fine. Just fine. Hold on, don't throw tomatoes yet! Let me explain.
The College Visit That Launched a Thousand Tears
The episode centers around Jack taking teenage Randall on a college tour to Howard University. A pivotal moment, for sure. We see young Randall grappling with identity. Heavy stuff.
Must Read
And Jack, being Super Dad Jack, tries his best. Bless his heart. Did anyone else find his advice...a little generic? "Follow your heart, Randall!" Deep, Jack. Real deep.
My Unpopular Opinion Incoming!
Here it comes: I think the episode is slightly overrated. There, I said it! It's a good episode, don't get me wrong. But I don't think it's the masterpiece everyone claims.
It felt a bit...predictable. Randall is stressed about college. Jack tries to fix it. Tears are shed. We've seen this before, haven't we?

Maybe I'm just jaded. Years of Pearson family drama have hardened my heart. Or maybe I just need a good cry myself. Who knows?
Randall's Identity Crisis: Relatable or Overdone?
Randall's struggle with his identity is a core theme. It's a valid and important story to tell. No arguments there.
But sometimes, it felt like they were hitting us over the head with it. "I'm a black man in a white family! Woe is me!" I get it, Randall. We all get it.

I almost wish they'd explored other facets of his personality. He's more than just his race! He's also a math whiz and a terrible gift-giver. Remember that robot vacuum incident?
Jack's Dad Skills: A Tad Exaggerated?
We all know and love Jack Pearson. The ultimate dad. The man who could fix anything with a smile and a pep talk.
But sometimes, his perfection feels a little...unrealistic. In this episode, he's once again the perfect sounding board. He always knows exactly what to say. It's exhausting!

Don't get me wrong, I admire him. But I also think he sets an impossible standard for dads everywhere. Give a guy a break, This Is Us!
The Howard University Factor
Howard University played a significant role. The episode highlighted its rich history and vibrant culture. That was fantastic.
It offered Randall a glimpse into a world where he could truly belong. A place where he wouldn't have to explain himself. A powerful message, indeed.

But even with all that, the episode didn't fully resonate with me. Maybe it's because I didn't attend an HBCU. Or maybe I'm just a contrarian. Probably both.
Final Thoughts (and a Plea for Forgiveness)
So, there you have it. My honest, possibly unpopular, opinion on "Every Version of You." It's a good episode. But not a great one, in my book.
Please don't hate me! I still love This Is Us. I just think this particular episode is a bit overhyped.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch the episode where Kevin punches a wall. That one's a masterpiece.
