Okay, Let's Talk About Sons of Anarchy Season 5 Premiere

So, I re-watched the first episode of Sons of Anarchy season 5 recently. And you know what? I have some thoughts. I think a lot of fans might disagree with me, but hear me out.

Clay's Still Around? Ugh.

First off, Clay Morrow. He's still breathing. Why? I get he’s a complex character, but man, I was hoping he’d be worm food by now. Jax let him live, and I will never understand it.

Seriously, is it just me, or does Clay just get more annoying each season? Someone needed to take care of that problem and it should have been Jax.

Jax as President: A Bit...Meh?

Speaking of Jax, new president, same problems, right? He’s trying to be all responsible and strategic. But honestly, he just looks stressed. Maybe he should have stayed VP.

He’s got the weight of the club on his shoulders, and you can see it. Is he really that much better than Clay? Time will tell, I guess.

The Home Invasion: Yikes!

Okay, let's talk about that scene. The home invasion was absolutely brutal. I almost had to look away. Talk about setting the tone for a dark season!

They really ramped up the violence, didn't they? I get it, it’s supposed to be shocking. But it's pretty intense stuff.

Gemma Being Gemma

And then there’s Gemma. Still meddling, still causing chaos. She’s like the queen of bad decisions. You'd think she'd learn, right?

Nope! She’s stirring the pot as usual, thinking she knows best. Someone needs to take her phone away. Or maybe just exile her to another state.

Tig's Got Issues (Big Surprise)

Poor Tig. What is up with that guy? He can never catch a break. I actually feel sorry for him...sometimes.

He's always getting himself into trouble, and season 5 looks like it is full of that. Someone needed to help the guy and get him some sort of therapy.

The "New Threat": Just Another Day in Charming

So, this new threat emerges. Surprise, surprise! It’s Charming. There's always some new enemy lurking around the corner. It's almost comical at this point.

You’d think they would have run out of bad guys by now. Apparently, not! Charming is like a magnet for trouble.

My Unpopular Opinion

Here's my unpopular opinion: the season 5 premiere, while intense, felt a little...predictable. We've seen the violence, the betrayal, the power struggles before.

Don’t get me wrong, I still watched the rest of the season! But the premiere felt like more of the same, just dialed up to eleven. Maybe my expectations were too high. Or maybe I'm just getting old.
