Watch American Horror Story Season 1 Episode 1

Okay, let's talk American Horror Story. Season 1, Episode 1. You know the one. The one everyone raves about?
My "Unpopular" Opinion
Brace yourselves. I'm not sure it's the best introduction to the entire series.
The Setup: A Bit Much?
The Harmon family moves to LA. Big, creepy house. Loads of history. You know the drill.
Must Read
But did they have to throw everything at us in the first hour? Infidelity, depression, a creepy maid, a rubber suit...whew!
It's like they were afraid we'd get bored! I'm kidding, of course. A little.
Violet: Instantly Relatable?
Violet, the angsty teen, is a mood. I get it. New school, weird house, parents fighting.
But something about her felt...I don't know...a little too on the nose?

Maybe it's just me! Maybe I'm projecting my own awkward teen years.
The Rubber Man: Intriguing, But...
Okay, the Rubber Man is undeniably iconic. Let's give Ryan Murphy his dues.
Creepy? Absolutely. Confusing? Also yes. Did I know what was going on? Not really!
I spent the whole episode wondering what his deal was. And frankly, still am after several watches.
The Constant Jumping
The episode keeps flashing to the past. Okay, fine. Setting the scene. Establishing the history.

But did it have to be so abrupt? I felt like I was watching a slideshow on fast forward.
My brain needed a little more time to catch up! Maybe a calmer start would've been better.
The Twist at the End
The big reveal? Ben had an affair. Surprise! (Not really).
It's meant to be shocking, I guess. But honestly, I was more concerned about the whole haunted house situation.

Maybe the affair felt a little...underwhelming against everything else that was happening.
Don't Get Me Wrong!
Look, I'm not saying it's a bad episode. It's just...a lot.
It’s packed with potential. And it definitely gets you hooked on the weirdness.
Just maybe, starting with episode two would be a gentler descent into the AHS madness.
The Bottom Line
It’s like throwing a party and inviting everyone you’ve ever met, all at once.

It's exciting! But also overwhelming. It could be a great starting point.
Maybe you prefer a smaller gathering. You know, just a few close friends... and a ghost or two.
So, Should You Watch It?
Yes! Of course! It's American Horror Story. You have to watch it. Consider it homework.
Just be prepared. It's a wild ride from the very first minute.
And maybe, just maybe, keep a stress ball handy.
