Was That The Last Episode Of This Is Us

Okay, let's be real. This Is Us. Remember that show? It was EVERYWHERE for, like, six years.
We cried. We laughed. We debated the merits of slow cookers. But… was it really good?
The Tears Were Flowing...Was I Feeling It?
Everyone seemed emotionally invested. They hung on every flash-forward and teary monologue. I'll admit, I teared up a few times.
Must Read
But sometimes it felt… manufactured? Like they were hitting certain buttons just to get the waterworks going.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here's where I might lose some of you. But I'm gonna say it. I think the show peaked early.
Remember season one? That was magic. The surprise ending! The intertwining stories! Genius!
After that, it felt like they were trying too hard. Adding more and more layers of drama.

The "Last Episode" Dilemma...For Me, Anyway
So, here's my crazy thought. Maybe, just maybe, the real last episode was sometime before the actual series finale.
Hear me out! Maybe it was the one where Jack and Rebecca went to Memphis? Or the one where Kevin finally got his act together?
For me, those earlier episodes had a certain…purity. A raw emotional honesty.
The Finale Felt...Long
Don't get me wrong, the actual finale was…fine. It tied up loose ends. Everyone got their closure.
But it also felt… long. Like they were stretching things out just to give everyone a good cry one last time.

And honestly, by that point, I was a little cried out. Was anyone else with me?
Could Have Ended Sooner?
Maybe the show could have ended a season earlier? Or even two? Just a thought.
I appreciate that they wanted to give every character a satisfying conclusion. And they did.
But sometimes, the best stories know when to end gracefully.

It's Not You, This Is Us, It's Me...Maybe?
Maybe I'm just heartless. Maybe I don't appreciate a good, drawn-out family drama. Probably not.
Or maybe, just maybe, the show lost its spark somewhere along the way for me. And I checked out emotionally a little bit sooner than everyone else.
Either way, I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one who felt that way. Anyone else think they could have ended it sooner?
The Legacy Remains…Kinda
Look, This Is Us was a cultural phenomenon. No one can deny that.
It got people talking about family, love, loss, and everything in between. It made Milo Ventimiglia a household name (again).

And it gave us countless memes. We'll never forget: the crock-pot.
So, Was That Really The Last Episode?
So, while technically, yes, the actual finale was the last episode, in my heart, the "last episode" happened a little bit sooner. It ended before they start repeating themselves.
A time when the show still felt fresh and surprising. A time before I got completely cried out.
That's just my unpopular opinion. Don't @ me. Ok, maybe do. I can take it. Unless you bring up slow cookers. Then it's war.
What do you think? Was the finale the best way to end it?
Or did This Is Us stay on the air a season or two too long?
